Stonebridge Golf Club

First, tee to green the course is nice not great for a $100 course. But when you get to the greens that's another story. For a $100 course I've never seen more divot marks and just overall imperfections in general in the greens. Played a practice round for a upcoming tournament next weekend, and I think we will have some very upset particapants with those greens. With the divots and imperfections add that they were slow and fuzzy. My playing partner wanted to play an extra 9, and they told us it would be $75 for a 9 hole re-play. *ucking crazy. Until they drop their price to $59 to $69 for a weekend rate I will not be back. Deerbrook, Waterford, The Warrior, and RiverBend just to name a few are all 50% better courses and are $69 and lower on the weekends.

I used to love Stonebridge Golf Course. I'm 83 years old. I have a 7.8 index so I'm a fair golfer. I have spinal stenosis and am limited as to mobility at times. Stonebridge gave out handicap flags for years. Recently, they stopped giving the handicap flags out, however, I was told to be careful to not abuse the privilege to drive up closer to the greens. On Monday, August 9, 2021, when I finished playing the 13th hole (I had parked the cart probably 20 yards to the right of the green) I drove up to the cart path where either the owner or possibly the superintendent told me I had to park the cart on the cart path and not close to the green. I explained that I had previously been given a flag but they had quit giving them out. I was told that had been his decision and he told me if I could play golf that I didn't need a handicap flag. I'm not sure that the American Disabilities Act would agree with that.
I'm sure that if I quit playing Stonebridge that it would not cause any problems financially to them, but that's where I am. Incredible that the grass around the greens are more subject to cart damage than the fairways. Especially when they are very few who may require handicap flags and would drive closer to the greens. And there is no one who fixes more pitch marks on the greens than I do. Or fills more divots with sand in the fairways. Ask Bob who use to work at Charlotte Links about that. Sad. Very sad.

$75 for a weekend round ($50 for a weekday) is ridiculous for this course. You can play Pinehurst courses cheaper on the weekends. There are many courses in the area in better shape and affordable. I guess Wingate U really wants their money. Stay away unless you just want to spend money.

This needs to be enforced, I play with so many people who do not do 90 degrees. I some times tell them, which often alienates them.

Obviously we need rain.

Always one of my favorite courses to play. The entire course is playing spot on. If you haven’t played there lately you should. Great bunch of people.

Burning stumps across the road takes away from the fresh air experience.

Course is a lot of fun. Grass is just coming out in the fairways. Tee boxes need a little attention.

Great day! Pace of play was unbelievable considering the amount of people on the course. Greens are great! Fun day to play!!

It was good to hear that they are getting new carts this month, the first cart I took almost had no brakes...

This is a $45 course in it’s current condition. Bland layout so conditions should be premium for $65. Furthermore the greens were like plinko boards because of aeration recently which had a definite affect in the value for the money rating. Go elsewhere unless you can find a discount.

Course is in pretty good shape, a few of the greens are not great but that is just the changing season! All in all it was a very enjoyable afternoon round!

The range is much larger than most public ranges around Charlotte and have many targets to hit to as well as an old Cadillac on the range. A chipping green and two practice putting greens are available. Overall, the course is not extremely challenging and makes for a fun round any day of the week. I mainly play on the weekdays and pace of play is never an issue. The staff are always friendly.

This course was great for the price. The greens were just airated and the fairways were wet (cart path only) but other than that it was in great condition! It was defiantly challenging, especially if you don’t know the layout.

It is nice to see grade school, high school and college kids out playing / practicing. I not sure if I have ever started off No. 1 - it would be nice if No. 1 was No. 1.

It was cart path only yet a group behind us violated this rule.

I understand rain comditions but the course has extremely poor drainage which creates cart path only days. The fairways if not with puddles feel like you are on a sponge. Lets throw in the aerated greens..
Not an enjoyable experience especially for $70. At least let the public know the conditions and reduce fees to $35 and let them choose.

I was unaware that the greens were aerated - which is not a major issue but they closed the front nine for aeration such that we had to play the back nine twice.

Also if you want to ride alone it is $20 extra. I understand and except a surcharge but $20 is steep.

Love the course and normally in great shape but they just aerated the back and was aerating the front today so we had to play the back twice. When booking through golf now it should of been stated what the course was doing and if we would of known we would of went someplace else. There was t anyone working the snack bar which was a little irritating. I will still go back to Stonebridge, it’s a great course with a good staff.
