Nice facilities, but….
Outstanding facilities here and what could be a top notch practice area. The top thing here thats a major turn-off and eyesore is the way they handle the practice areas, particularly the chipping area. They designate the Chipping by leaving out numerous YELLOW range balls. The Driving Range uses White Balls. All of these Yellow Balls were worn-out years ago, many barely have dimples remaining. They strung out all over the place and make the place look bad. Get rid of these totally so people will use their own balls (which will make folks pick-up after themselves and cut down on people launching balls dangerously as they do now from every direction & distance). Many areas around the chipping green are bare dirt now. Putting green was nice but needed 2 more Cup/Holes (which would spread-out the current foot traffic & wear). Also odd that the Driving Range Ball Station had Credit Card Reader yet you have to go all the way to the Clubhouse to purchase balls to use???? 🤪. Golf course is well maintained however since its been piece-milled over the years via various reconfiguration and construction its overall design doesn’t flow well.
One Very Busy Golf Course
The Bermuda greens were near perfect. Slick and smooth. The fairways were wet and it was cart path only. So to be honest, it’s not the best draining course around town.
I did not notice any significant changes to the course since last season. I played the blues and given the wet conditions, several holes played very long. I do like the diversity of the layout. Some folks don’t like the back 9, but not me. I appreciate the full 18. There’s a great mix of easy/difficult holes and risk/reward. Some holes seem quirky but overall, I really like this course. Really enjoyed their nice Modern Clubhouse as well.
Overpriced
Course in good shape with nice amenities. I think the layout is ok but I didn't care for it. Front side decent back side not so much. The main problem is the 55 dollar price tag which is about 10 bucks to much. This comes with its location as most of Charlotte area courses are overpriced. Probably won't play here again but that is personal preference and the price.
Outstanding municipal course
Can’t understand why this is rated 4 stars unless the private country club crowd is writing reviews. Course is in fabulous condition.. Has to be the best municipal course in the region. Fairways and greens don’t have a bare spot on them. It’s a challenging course, especially the back 9. Greens are fast and the carts have the latest technology in them.. Front nine is open and back 9 tight...like playing 2 different courses. Beautiful clubhouse and great restaurant. The only nitpick is the greens were very firm and not receptive to even short irons. They need a bit of softening up.
Great Post-Storm Conditions
Despite a tropical storm coming through town the night before, Mooresville was in great shape (the underwater first hole not withstanding). There were some puddles and soupy spots on most holes, but the course was very playable and the greens were fantastic, if a bit slow.
I was really impressed with Mooresville, especially the front nine's links layout that was fun and different from most courses in the area. The clubhouse was very nice, and I'd like to try the restaurant when it reopens. Nice range and short game practice areas too. I definitely recommend this course; it's an easy drive up 485 and 77 from Charlotte.
OVERALL: 7.7/10
Fair Course
The profile of the course or design shows two stiles - front nine has standard or conventional design feel while the back nine is links golf . Naturally the links part of the course is more difficult and requires a lot more creativity on shot making, but it is largely playable to any good shot maker . Pretty good course in my book. However, the greens need a refresh.
Do not miss this.
There may be better unis but not until you add $200.00 to the rack rate.
The only course I have played that conforms to Federal ADA guidelines.
Of note:
1) They do not use handicapped flags. You are given a single person cart that is designed for golfers who have lost use of a limb. Due to the design, there is no place for the club supplied GPS. Bring your own.
2) The greens are very fast. Double or triple your practice green time.
If I did not live an hour away, I would join and play every week at least once.
Challenging Course, Great Practice Area, Nice Facility
I only had time to play nine ($22 was with a cart) and you really need to ride because it is a long course. I only saw one walker when I played.
It is a challenging course, different elevations, uneven lies and in the spring brown grass in the fairways (but at least it is not cut too short so you do have some bounce to the ground).
The practice area is really nice. The distances on the driving range are well marked for the flags. They have a nice chipping area and a separate putting area. I would go there just to practice if I were in the area.
The carts are new and have GPS which was great because I believe they redid the front nine and my GPS watch was not picking up the correct yardage. So if you go, download they new course info. if you have a GPS watch.
The staff were friendly and the club house is all new and very nice. I did not eat so I can't speak to the quality of food. You can order food from the cart to pickup at the turn (which my playing partners did - but they did comment on the burger being 10 bucks).
Pace of Play has ruined this course
This was a great reboot but something has to be done with the pace of play ...Course has a lot of older gentlemen members walking I assume to save the cart fee because this course is too big to walk .. I only played nine holes from start to finish 2 1/2 hours last time I played 18 it was 5 hours and that is just too long ...They need Rangers the giybin front of me teed off 3 times just ridiculous ..Shane because the course is ice greens are great and the pace of play has nothing to do with cart path because everyone was walking
Tremendous value!
Classic designer, wonderfully updated. Staff could have not been more helpful and accommodating! Can’t wait to play again next time I’m visiting my cousin.

1st time since remodel
The remodeled course has an excellent layout with mostly wider fairways. Holes play long. Greens are in great shape especially for this time of year. It was quite soggy but I expected that with all the rain we've had lately. I will definitely play again and look forward to in the spring.
Great course. New facilities. Excellent when not wet
Great course. It’s probably my favorite public/private course in the area. I recommend not playing if there’s been rain the same week otherwise it’s in excellent condition.
Overall
For this time of year the course was wet do to rain but otherwise in good condition
