Very good golf Course. Layout is very enjoyable and challenging. Small undulating greens. Speed of play was excellent. A must play when in the area. Staff was extremely professional and helpful. Highly recommend this golf course.
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who cares about pace or pro shop help
We had a 5pm tee time for 18 holes on a Thursday afternoon. Will say the starter was very nice. The first three holes took over an hour to play. We called the clubhouse to see what we should do. Todd answered. He told us we had played a par 3, 4 and 5 (we had actually played a par 4, par 4, par 5) and pace of play normally is 45-50 minutes, which ours is was not. The pace was well on way to 6 hours. We asked if it was normal to him to take over an hour on three holes and Todd asked us very rudely what we wanted him to do about it. We stayed on each tee box for 20 minutes with other groups stacked behind. Never saw a ranger or anyone associated with the course after hole one. With the two groups in front of us (twosome and foursome) even skipping a hole it still took us 2:45 and clearly had to stop after 9 holes. No rain check offered. Absolute joke of customer service and a below average course. Will not be playing there ever again.
Best course around Raleigh
I’m a 3 handicap and have played a lot of nice courses and this is by far one of the best I’ve ever played. The greens are challenging and roll at a 12-13 all year round as well. Long hitters can play from the tips and experience a challenging 7300 yards, but this course can be played by your average golfer as well. Pace of play is always incredible and the management in the pro shop treated us like royalty when we came in. This course and whole experience is a real treat and we will be making the drive from Raleigh most weekends from here on out
Multiple rounds completed
I would recommend this course to anyone visiting the area. It's quite challenging and you will more than likely come back again to improve your rounds. Enjoy....
Great Course for the Money
This is a great course that is well treated and kept. The greens were a little slow. Fairways in excellent condition.
My only big gripe is the grouping schedule. I was in a foursome that was followed by a solo and then 4 or 5 doubles that were continually pressing our play. Wasted 30 minutes allowing doubles to play through. There was no grouping of doubles at the clubhouse. We played in 4hrs 30min, and on the third hole was told to pick up pace by the Marshall.
Doubles need to be paired into foursomes to keep pace of play consistent on course.
Carolina Lakes
Not a bad track, but out of the way, and the drought has severely dried the course out. The greens are in good condition though, and make playing this hidden place worthwhile.
love the layout of course
Enjoyed the hills and challenges on the greens. I will go back again!
great course, excellent value.
Very nice course, sometimes play can get slow on weekends.Excellent course for the money.
Nice course!
A little bit of a drive from where I live in Raleigh, but well worth it. Heard some good things about this course. Booked it through GolfNow for $16 but after playing it I would have paid a lot more. Very well maintained and a great layout. My only complaint was the pace of play was a little slow, but you have to expect that on a nice course on a holiday afternoon (Labor Day). Highly recommend you give this track a try in the future.
Well worth the drive from RDU. Super friendly staff, well maintained water supply and course conditions.
Mixed review on the course conditions. While the course is well maintained, the greens were superb, but the fairways were thin. Needs to be overseeded in the fall, so hopefully they can be a bit easier to hit off of. The good thing was the amount of roll that it provided. Can't say enough good things about the quality of the staff and the fact that on a blistering hot day, the water coolers were well maintained and frequent!! - Darrell, Cary NC
well kept! beautiful!
This course is in western Harnett County. It is a "hidden gem". I have played this course many times over the last 30 years and it just gets better all the time!
The only problem is that some people don't know how to fix ball marks on the greens.
Good layout and mixture of holes - super staff
Have played this course several times. This is a nice layout with good mixture of hard, medium and easy holes. The course has some areas that are being worked on, but overall it has been in good condition each time I have played it. The staff has always been super friendly and the other patrons are courteous. If you want a good experience that requires different shots this is a place to visit.
Good track
The course was in great shape-near perfect greens. It rained for about 20 mins it drained really well. Definitely going back
Good track
Great course, greens in great shape. Very open, some weather damage from the recent storm; trees, limbs down, etc. Pace of play very slow due to tournament ahead of us and many people playing on US Open weekend.
Nice Greens.
Played here last year and the greens were in bad shape. That is a thing of the past. They have really done a great job and the greens are great!
perfect course
i've began playing golf in January this year, and Carolina Lakes golf course is the best place for a beginner to hone his developing skills,or challenge the veteran golfer and all in between. Excellent value for the money. The golf pro is very down to earth and friendly. I'll continue to perfect my skills at Carolina Lakes golf course.
The greens test your putting skills very nice
Nice golf course to get your game back in shape. Fun holes that give you variety of shots. Great value !
