Lakewood Golf Club

My husband and son have been playing there for several years with no issues. Yesterday they were asked to leave and never return because they called the clubhouse after the guy on the mower continued to follow them for 3 holes. The clubhouse staff agreed with my husband that after the first hole the mower should gave gone in the opposite direction so not to continue to disturb their play and said they’d take care of it. The next thing you know they were aggressively confronted by a man who said he was the owner and said to my husband “I hear you don’t like the way we mow around here” then turned to my 20 year old son who was in the cart and said “we don’t have a bunch of Mexicans out here” my son is complexion is dark and his Native American features typically get mistaken as Mexican. My husband said he’d gladly leave as long as they returned their money, which they did. For all the years that our family has played this course this is the only time any of us have ever seen the owner we’ve never had issues with any of the other staff. We’re still in disbelief as my husband formerly was a golf pro and never heard of this happening.

Horrible course. Dont play here. They were very rude and called me and my buddy derogatory names that really offended us. Don’t waste your time playing here.

the front nine was a little wet, cart path only. Still course in good condition

Fun course with very good hole variety. Course was very wet when I played it as it poured the night before, but the greens were slick. Hole 17 is tough with the tees all the way back. Course is open, but short game needs to be on point as the greens are very sloped.

Back nine is really nice on this course if you can get through the front ..Played Sunday just ridiculous pace of play..Jeans and hoodies on players golf carts with music blasting guys taking two to three tee shots each. great friendly staff nice local course but you would need rangers everywjere keeping players moving and not disrupting other players would not come near this course on a weekend maybe. Easy course, greens are soft and smooth and roll true. Tees and greens are in fantastic shape. Fairways are in really good shape especially considering how dry this area has been for months. The rough was dried out but to be expected with area conditions lately. Great fun, not difficult, interesting layout, and easy on the wallet.

Only $24 and pretty well maintained, especially the greens. Only 3 holes are challenging. This place isn't worth the drive if you're not around here, but if you're in town and don't want to spend a lot of money you'll be pleased to go here.
