Course Review
Our round at Greensboro National was great, other than the rangers. The pro shop had the rangers come and speak with us multiple times when we were more than a hole in front of the group behind us the entire time. It was very off-putting. On a windy day we played in about 4:30 and 3 of my group had never seen the course. The marshalls were friendly, but to be bothered multiple times when we weren't slowing the course down was silly.
Better Course Management Needed
Great course, great value, fun layout, needs managed better. As a single, got paired up with another single and a young college couple. Typical for a course to do, no worries. However, this young couple was awful, taking their dear time while taking double digit strokes on every hole. 9 holes took 2.5hrs. Beautiful day and the other single was a solid, chill golfer, so no worries. But, this young buck got sent out from the pro shop and had the audacity to ask us to pick it up as if it wasn’t their fault. Didn’t say a word to the young couple. We lost the couple for the back 9, then the other single and I were held up the entire time by the two groups in front of us. Nothing from the clubhouse. Just be careful allowing the pro shop to pair you up with randoms and be prepared for amateur course management.
Still a little early for prime conditions.
Always enjoy playing here 3 or 4 times a year. The fairways are still dormant but not quite like hitting off hardpan. Greens had been aerated a couple weeks ago but played well and rolled fairly true. Can't wait to come back after everything gets back green.
Fun and beautiful course
After playing for the first time a week ago, I returned to the course since I got a good understanding of greens, fairways, where not to miss etc. The course offers opportunities to score and will challenge you. You have to use different irons/clubs due to elevation, turns, water and hazards. Fun course. Great views. The staff is very professional. The starter was very informative. The driving range is really good with targets.
One of the top courses in the area
Wow is all I can say about this place. They keep the greens in the best condition all year around. How they can keep the speed up is beyond me and keep the greens pure. The starter told us we are ready and one thing she emphasized was repairing ball marks. The do an excellent job.
It was a bit wet and cart path only through the first 6 holes. We got a notification on the gps that 90 degree has went into affect. This made the round much more enjoyable. The slopes and hills would make this a tough course to walk for anyone not use to walking. The layout is one of the funnest in the area. Mid iron and short iron par 3’s. Short drivable par 4’s and some with 8-9 iron approach shots. Par 5’s take a great drive and every bit of a great shot if you want a chance to reach in 2.
We ordered beer and cheese sticks at the turn and had the food ready waiting when we got there. The food was really good and price was reasonable. The bar tender was really nice and made everyone feel welcome.
Driving range balls where nice and you had to hit off mats. They have a big range with multiple flags to aim at. Two different putting greens but one was closed. The pro shop had several clubs and clothing to choose from. Also I’m pretty sure they rent clubs for anyone who needs them.
If I lived close I’d definitely like to join and be able to enjoy the practice area and nice course. If you haven’t played then you need to give them a try.
Very good course

Ask for a better staff!

Club house is awesome, range is nice. Course in good shape for the winter. Overall pretty happy
Awesome course, warm weather will make it that much better.
The staff was super awesome and friendly. The course was creatively laid out and definitely challenging. The greens were aerated which is the only bummer but the course was in great condition for it being the beginning of March.
This Course is Beautiful
Great views, well maintained and staff is awesome
Highly Recommend
Very beautiful and forgiving!
First time playing this course. Crazy good gof for the money. Greens were quite nice. Fun layout. Very well maintained.
GPS enabled carts with hole layout.
Friendly folks.
Love this place.
Played in December when leaves are gone and things are brown, but it was still in VERY good condition.
I'll definitely play again.
Peak season greens in December
I’m not sure how they have done it but the greens are better than some at peak season here in December. It was freezing cold so we only hit a small bucket between both us to warm up. The driving range is pretty big and several flags to aim for. The range balls were like new so I enjoyed that. Once we got to the first green we realized how well the greens are. Thinking they be slow and slightly frozen we were not expecting much. Boy was we wrong. The staff was super friendly and plenty to choose from at the club house and bar. We will be returning hopefully to try this place out in warm weather. I highly recommend this place if you haven’t tried it out. I forgot to mention the layout is very fun and not at all crowded.
carolina blue skies
We dressed for the cool weather, but it was a Carolina blue skies warm Nov. day! Course was it great shape. And the staff was on their A game. There were a few leaves on the course, which made finding the ball a little hard at times. But we were not pushed by the 4some behind us. I wish my game was better! Will play again... It was a great place for old friends to meet up.
