This Course Is Now Closed - New Housing and A Park
This was a fun local proximity Eugene, OR muni - it's not closed as of 12/23/2022 due to land sale for a park and some more housing. The back 9 had sold and been developed several years earlier.
Course needs some TLC
Pace of play and price were great! The course, however, needed some care. Teeboxes were not set up. You guessed where to hit from. The fairways and greens were not in the best shape but you get what you pay for with bargain rates. Greens were slow, and as a first time player it was a bit challenging to find the next hole at times.
Parking available but not provided
This would be an awesome little course (one of three) for beginners and Anyone wanting to work on their short iron play, but you have a fairly long walk to the first tee and the tees are not marked very well. Only with a rock. Greens are not in very good shape. Lots of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. The course just doesn't maintain this 9 hole course as well as they do the rest of the course. They would get a lot more play (especially by more seniors) if they opened the parking lot up and manned the club house.
Great Value for the Money
Course was in good condition. Biggest challenge was the amount of trees to deal with. You need to play in the fairway or you will lose your ball. Nice walking course and good value for the money. Not a place to hangout for a drink afterwards.
RiverRidge - Tight but Fair
Played this course early Saturday morning, getting the tee time on Golf Now the night before. The first couple of holes, especially #2, are extremely tight but after a while it opens up a bit. I like #11-13 on the other side of the road, two par 3s and another extremely tight par 4 that I just laughed at - it was that tight. Love the huge trees in the middle of the course! Decent value in the Eugene area.
River Ridge July 6
This course plays long (on your legs), yet I always walk it. Very nice scenery. The greens are good and it is well maintained. It is challenging enough to keep a 20 handicapper with a 250 yard average drive entertained. The sand traps have fluffy sand (a novel concept for most Oregon municipal courses). The "club house", well, they don't really have one. Pre made sandwiches and frozen burritos does not make we want to hit the 19th hole. This is a golfer's golf course more than a "hang out and avoid going home" golf course.
RiverRidge
Not too shabby. Nice course. Not too difficult, and yet not too hard. Friendly staff, nice range, putting and chipping greens
Good course and close to town
Well maintained, moderately challenging course with a couple "quirky" holes in the mix.
