Mini Golf. But Louder
Had the chance to play Bala for group outing. What can I say this place might better fit Professional Mini Golf Tour or better yet The Short Game (Netflix).
Kidding aside: this track best endyoyed with persimmon and balata. Or 7i wedge putter. Bomb n gouge if you want. They should rename it “JB Holmes for a day”. The course record is never safe.
All seriousness, the locker room is awesome. Reminds me of ACCC: old school vibes, oozing with history. Multiple handicap stalls that reek of grand daddy urine. Check out the Pro Shop too. Excellent selection of stand bags.
All in all not a bad place. Endyoy~
Excellent and Challenging
Bala is a beautiful course with a location that cannot be beat (CC Philadelphia is literally 12 minutes). I read some reviews prior to playing that the course was short, but this is not a weakness. yes, the driver will not dictate your round but holes are plenty long with a lot fo unique and challenging designs. This course will test every club in your bag and makes for one of the best rounds in and around the city (that includes Llanerch, Rolling Green and Philly Cricket which are my comparisons)
Great Course
I can't compliment this course enough. It is a great course with a friendly staff. Before I played here I heard that the course was extremely narrow. Thats not the case. The fairways are just as wide as all other causes in the area. I rate this course as the best in the area, because their staff is top-notch. I was a guest at this course and they treated me like I was a 20 year member!
I've played Manufacturers, North Hills, and Lu Lu (known as the best course in the area) and Bala is ranks above them all. Now, the others might be longer but none can beat this staff and the conditions of the greens, fairways, and amenities.
Solid Course
Does not look like much from the scorecard, but plays very nice. Very tight, and you need to hit a variety of clubs. Course is in great condition and very quick to play a round. Not a traditional course, but still a fun, challenging round.
