Last Chance to play till 2023
If you are a lover of golf architecture, golf history, and walking golf this is a good time to play Cobbs Creek!
I found the greens to be in good condition and fairways were also fine. There are certainly some rough bits and the recent complaints are fair. #3 green was lost this summer and the paths are in rough shape. #5 hole is in bad shape too. So do stay away if you expect more for $20.
To me this is a last chance to look at the existing layout before it gets changed back to the original layout. I plan to play there one or 2 more times before it closes.
Best of luck to the Cobbs Creek Foundation and all the players who love Cobbs Creek.
No carts?
Didn’t play it. They didn’t have carts! I understand I purchased walking rate but other courses did same and you purchased them separately. No pull carts either
Was worse than my low expectations
I made the reservation 4 days prior to our round through Golf Now. The reservation only had a ‘walking’ option, so to be safe I called and a gentleman answered “Cobbs creek pro shop this is ____, how can I help”. I confirmed with him that we could take a cart and he said yes, it’s first come first serve. We showed up today and I asked for two carts (there were close to 15-20 carts out front). The lady said carts are reserved for the members only and we had to walk.
So the walking part sucked. The course has always sucked. Spend your money elsewhere
People complain too much
People complain so much about this course but 1) it's a $20 round you can't expect Augusta 2) the course is about to close until 2023 so of course they're probably selling of carts rather than having them sit til then and 3) the course's landscape and scenery is actually really nice. I've played here twice now and it's a great walking pace. Have people complaining about the temporary hole even taken a look at the washed away green? If you're not a golf snob this is a great course for the money, just wished I played here earlier!
I Just feel like it is hard to know where the hole is going. Also one hole didn't have a green there was just a circle around some grass with a pin in the ground. Also, the cart paths in the front were extremely rocky and dangerous when crossing a bridge. I think if there was more turf management this course could be excellent. The greens were good the fairways, bunkers, and trouble knowing where the hole went was the cons for me.Everyone there was very nice.
Never got a chance to play
Never got a chance to play. They ran out of golf carts at noon when I got there. I paid for 18 holes and a cart. They said I could walk the course but we’re going to charge me the same rate as with a cart. I said no thank you and left

Shows its age
Cobb's Creek runs through this course and adds very nice views, but this is the highlight, unfortunately. This muni course used to host the PGA, but shows many years of neglect and/or lack of funding for upkeep. The greens on 9/18 were furry. With a 25 foot uphill put on the 2nd hole and a 2-1/2 foot back swing, I didn't make it to the hole. It was as if the putt was on wet Velcro. The course layout offers so much more than what was delivered.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We take your thoughts seriously and are working hard everyday to provide great course conditions for our guests. We appreciate your patience as sometimes weather (or lack thereof) make us pivot our course maintenance routine. Unfortunate.
Played the Olde Course about five times now, and has always been a nice experience. Despite the poor turf, drainage, etc. I've always been willing to overlook those factors because it's clear the course has great bones and the history is interesting.
However, today was impossible to defend. There seems to be very little effort to maintain even reasonable conditions tee to green. Multiple spots in the fairways had not been mowed - for example, the fifth is a great hole but balls that were hit well into the driving areas were buried under six inches of weeds.
Most importantly, it took our group of three 2 hours and 20 minutes to get to the 7th tee. There was no where to go and no one moving anything along. It's a city course and we expect it to be slower, but that's disgusting all things considered. We walked off in frustration - first time I've done that.
Hopefully, the supposed future restoration comes through and something great can be done with the place. Sad to say because I love some of the shots, but until there are changes, go literally anywhere else.

Thank you for your feedback. We take your opinion seriously, and are working everyday to improve the customer experience. The conditions have suffered due to some equipment and machine issues, but we hope to be able to correct these for the remainder of the season. We hope you'll come see us again, and if you have any other questions or comments please email us at info.cobbscreek@golfphilly.org. Have a great day!
Worn out
This course may have once been OK but is a dog track now. Rumors that investors are circling and plan major renovation. If so prices will rise but basic layout could be nice.

Above average day
I’m just a beginner so I don’t have that many courses to compare it to. The layout was a lil confusing, especially because there are 2 courses intertwined together, but we figured it out. There were a few challenging holes for me on the front 9 playing over the water hazards. But I enjoyed the long holes on the back 9 once I finally got my driver going. Pace of play was smooth until the 16th when we ran into a group of six beginners. It looked like a man was actually giving lessons to an older woman while they were playing. I’m pretty sure any groups over 4 is frowned upon, but there are no rangers there. We eventually ended up saying screw it and skipped to the 17th. If there is one recommendation I could make; I would ask for new signs marking every hole. I will def play there again in the future.

Thank you for your honest feedback. First off -- welcome to the game of golf! We take your feedback seriously and are working hard at providing our guests a better experience. You are correct, groups of more than 4 are frowned upon. If you run into this again, please don't hesitate to call the Pro Shop and we will try to get a member of management out to keep play moving along. We look forward to having you out again. Don’t do it
For $43 thought it would be a decent round. Not so much. Greens in rough shape. Fairways uncut. Puddles everywhere despite no rain for a few days. Would not go back.

Classic Old Philly Muni
Classic old Philly Muni, layout designed by same guy who designed Merion. Course was in a bit rough condition and tough for them to keep up with mowing with all the extra rain in Aug 2018, but overall good fairways and greens. I would play there again. Pace of play a bit slow for a weekday.
