Skytop Lodge - Poconos Golf Course

About
Skytop Golf Course sprawls across rolling hills set against a backdrop provided by the beautiful Poconos. The course originally opened in 1927. It has a classic design with traditional features including wide fairways, but the trees that line them have matured into quite the challenge. The 6,656-yard length may seem short by modern standards but don't get too comfortable. This mountain golf course features a variety of elevation changes and nowhere is this more apparent than the small greens where the breaks can vary from subtle to dramatic, but they are almost all unexpected. The greens also play lightning fast. Strategically placed bunkers are lurking throughout but thankfully water only comes into play on two holes. Skytop Golf Course offers plenty of scenic respite as well, with panoramic views of West Mountain.

Secret in the Poconos.
What a beautiful course. This course is in great condition this early in the year. I had fun on the course even tho is was very windy. The started was awesome. He mad sure our round was not held up. Beautiful course, I can’t wait to play there again soon.
Fine golf establishment
Played as a single in November.
Finished the round in under 2.5 hrs
The course condition was so pure. From the tee boxes, fairways, green and bunkers. Can pass as a private club.
I big standing ovation for the crew!
On a side note
- very spotty phone service on the course. So the golf gps apps are a bit wonky at certain holes.
- there were several non golfing groups walking and around the course. They should be careful
Great golfing
Must remark on how this golf course has generally improved over the years. The greens were in almost perfect condition.
Rich in the pro shop was as helpful and professional as usual, even extending the courtesy of giving me a complementary bag of balls to warm up at the driving range. I highly recommend this golf course for a day of great golfing.
made an account just to add a review. this golf course is awesome.
Perfect end to the summer
We were staying at the hotel and how could we not play such an attractive looking course.
Greens were fast, firm, but receptive. Primo private club conditions on a classic 1920s golf course. Proshop staff were great. Our round of golf took 3.5 hours, no one pushing us and we didn't have to wait a single time to hit.
Skytop is going to be part of our summers for years to come. What a fine tuned golfing experience!
Beautiful course
Great course
Great views!!
If you play here? do not go too over the green!
The back side to almost every green is a 13’-30’ drop straight down
Very tough 1 st hole and 18th

It’ was a very nice but the course ranger was soooo annoying he kept bothering us during our golf round and would not leave us alone for no apparent reason he should be reprimanded !!!
Worth the Drive
This course is unbelievable. I can’t believe I haven’t played here before. It is so lush. I don’t know how they do it. It’s almost the middle of July and it is still green as can be. The greens, tee boxes and Fairways are in excellent shape. I am from New Jersey and I drove an hour and a half to play at this course and it will definitely be in my monthly golf trips. This is way better than any public course in New Jersey that I play. It has the feel of a nicer country club. As one review stated the only potential thing that you could complain about are the bunkers are a little hard but when you think about the overall layout of the course and the spectacular views, it’s barely a blip on the radar. The food is spectacular. Everything is made to order on site. The fresh daily homemade chocolate chip cookies are out of this world. I would easily drive two hours or a little over to come play at this course. I will definitely be back. Special thanks to Wayne with all the local knowledge that made us feel right at home.
Amazing Facility
Absolutely beautiful course. I will definitely be going back.
