Foxchase Golf Club

This course is great, it's a little on the shorter side, but a terrific layout.

I must admit though, the pace is an absolute disaster when it's busy. I play this course frequently, avoid it all costs on weekends unless it is very early or very late. I can walk this course in 2.5 hours if it is empty, but if you play on a Saturday at noon expect a 5-5.5 hour round, at a minimum. Hole #2 is a very reachable Par 4, and #3 is a Par 3 and I think that contributes to the pace problem, but doesn't totally explain how rounds are routinely well above 5 hours.

Course was in nice shape. Rough was not too high so you were able to find your ball. I enjoy the layout. Score on the front nine because the back nine is a little longer and a little more challenging in my opinion. Our league plays here every year. I live 50 miles away so it’s not a Course I play often (once a year). If I didn’t live so far away, I would play here all the time.

I have played Foxchase many times since they opened in 1991. I always find the condition to well kept. The course with multiple tee boxes can offer challenge to golfers of all ability. It is the best public course in Lancaster County.
My only criticism is the condition of the driving range hitting areas. Its time to reseed. You can get great value pricing at certain times of the day.

Checked internet price and from 6:15-8:00am it was listed for $32 to ride. Booked for 8am. I was last of our 4some to pay and was told it was $38. Asked if the internet price was different and they said no so I said I thought it was cheaper than that on the internet. He slapped a printout on the counter and said here, 8am-11am it’s $38. So I said that from 6:15-8:00 it’s $32 and I’m @8. He looked at me and said,”do you want to play or don’t you!” Asked for range token and in process of ringing me up, it didn’t go through so had to do it again. In return he gave me the $4 token for free for “jerking me around” as he put it. So I was overcharged $6 but got $4 back and ended up net minus $2. However, the other 3 in the group were overcharged the $6 so the course netted $20 off our 4some. This must be the acceptable practice: give me your money and move along.

This is a great course for all handicappers. You can score here -- if you play the correct tees. Nice practice range and putting green. The.course is always in great condition and the staff is pretty friendly as well. You simply can't go wrong here. The.course gets lots of play and rightfully so. My only complaint is they shouldn't take tee time more than 20 minutes before sunrise because it backs up all the tee times. When playing at 7 am -- there shouldn't be a 20-30 delay. I've been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

Despite very dry conditions in the area the course played great. Staff is always friendly, nice driving range to warm up and nice lunch facility.

This was my first time playing Foxchase and I was not disappointed. The fairways and greens were kept extremely well...the lies on the fairway were extremely tight and the grass was cut very close. It had a pretty nice layout and was very walkable. Definitely one to check out when you get a chance.
