Country View Golf Club

About
Country View Golf Club is situated just 20 minutes north of Providence and just south of the Massachusetts state line. Its convenient location in the Blackstone Valley area is easily accessible from several major highways. The course sprawls across rolling terrain with beautiful trees lining the fairways. It's a player-friendly golf course where you won't find many bunkers or water hazards. Accuracy is needed though to navigate past the many trees and the undulating terrain provides a few tricky uneven lies. Country View G.C. finishes with a tough uphill par 4. This intimidating hole has out-of-bounds to the left and trees on the right and the trouble doesn't end there. The second shot climbs uphill further to a narrow, sloping green. You can try to go long but that can make getting up and down nearly impossible, it would be safer to go short and left.

Goat Pastures in Afghanistan are more appealing
Avoid this place. It won’t be hard. It’s out in the middle of nowhere and yet in the smallest state in the US.
Good track
Good course, some very challenging holes (Gorilla Alley) started at 12:56 and managed to get to hole 10 in plenty of time to beat the 3 o’clock tourney.
A couple of dry spots but they are working on them. The greens were great and the rough around the greens is healthy. I usually play this course a couple times a year
Ok track
Wide open fairways. Tee boxes are ok - could use some
mowing. There are lots of fairway drainage issues that need to be addressed. Very good value for what it is - a practice course. Wish they had a ranger at the turn. 2 hours to play the front on a busy Friday was great. Three hours to play the back was terrible
Terrible
Everytime i try to book a hot deal it glitches out and then the hot deal dissappears. This has happened several times.
Too much $ for not enough course
I am still astounded on how this course had an overall 4 star rating on GN. 65 dollars to ride, was a fairly outrageous fee for a course that was in pretty poor shape. Tee boxes are mostly destroyed. The fairways are fair to moderate in condition. Tons of burned out or dead areas, which is surprising, given how much rain we've had this year. The greens are small, and several of them have damage. Our pace on the front 9 was decent. Just over two hours. We ended up being 3 groups deep on the 10th tee box somehow. No ranger in sight. I don't know if they let groups go out off the back, in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, but it took us 56 minutes to get from 10 tee to 11 tee. Ridiculous. None of this would be that aggravating, or surprising if we had paid 40 bucks to ride, but 65?!? Get real. You can play any number of FAR superior courses in the area for the same, or sometimes less than that. Fix your course and pace, or reduce your rates.
Good course
This was a really good course. Staff were very friendly and polite.
Pleasantly Surprised
Great time! Nice course. Challenging, and fun. Foursome finished in 4hrs. Would recommend, and will be back.
Front 9 VS Back 9
Like playing two different courses...the back 9 was aerated, and no notice was posted recently over the past two weeks...I do look almost daily to see if this course IS available...thus, I probably have a better sense...else, the traffic on the course was light and moved along nicely...definetly a good value...play it and challenge yourself...
A 3 club wind!
The back 9 is much more challenging than the front 9 - that challenge was compounded by a gusting wind that moved the ball significantly in the air and on the greens. Back 9 greens were recently plug aerated and sanded which added to the challenge.
Quiet on a Sunday
Even though it was quiet on Sunday, the course played well...earlier in the week the greens were very soft with multiple divots needed to be repaired...Sunday saw them turn dry and hard...played with others that hit shots that brought rain down, and were hard pressed to see a divot anywhere...but, the course is just fine...the front 9 plays much easier than the 12th (over massive water hazard) and turtle back, elevated green with horrendous roll(regardless of where the cup is placed)...had a player having the round of his life with a sub 80 in range...and barely broke 90 with the multiple putts and rolls on the 18th...saw the ball make a U turn on a miss...wild...else, just have great time and enjoy...well worth the trip and will look forward to playing here for this year and next...
Perfect weather day
...nice course, still, one must add in some drying time for the greens, else you will end up using a 7 iron to putt...the 12th hole really should be something the mgmt looks at...having to effectively drive well, then do a small/moderate lay up to get to the front, just so you can clear the water, on a down hill slope, to the elevated green is...well, try it a few times...just use garbage balls...LOL...the 18th green is an elevated turtle back and a beast if you forget to come in on the left side...say putts do an actual U TURN from above...still scoring is fairly easy...have fun, but do look out for the above...will play again for sure
Nice Course in Very Good Condition
Took advantage of a early Sunday AM tee time with GolfNow and got in some nice hits.
Course was in very good condition. Tee Boxes good, fairways good. One thing I thought was that the fairway grass was a little long. A few times I had a to think about hitting a true wood or an iron to get the ball up and some distance. Greens were in excellent condition.
Front and Back 9 play totally different. Front 9 has wide open fairways, slight elevation changes, and plays fairly straight. Back 9 requires some thinking on ball placement for next shot, a lot more elevation change, and more fairway hazards. Fairways are a little tighter too and a few more doglegs or bends.
Some long Par 4's (380+ from the tips) require a good drive and second shot to get on in 2. I think there are only two Par 5's for 18.
I will definitely play here again. Pretty course with something for every skill level. Recommend.
