Panther is still running
Because of time of year, we as locals are having trouble finding tee times in the Myrtle Beach area. We understand that this is the busy season, and I remember being a tourist myself that we once played the big cat courses years ago. When I called and heard they had a 9:27 tee time for a foursome we jumped on it, as it turned out I wish they had said we are all booked up. So disappointing in course conditions. Panthers run is in terrible condition. Our first concern should have been when the pro shop said that the practice green is in rough shape, however the greens on the course should be in better conditions.... wrong. From greens to sand traps to fairways this course was in terrible shape, the only thing positive was that it only took 4 hours to play. Hopefully the other 3 courses up there are in better condition, however I doubt it. The greenskeeper must limited to funds, because money, time and resources are not being put back into these courses.
Thank you very much for the wonderful Five Star review of Panther's Run. We really appreciate it and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Thank you for the very nice Four Star review of Panther's Run! We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. Be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well.
Much improved over 2023
Played last year. Layout and staff are fantastic as always. Last year the greens were a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. They are much improved, I'd give them a 6 or 7 now. Will improve more with the weather. Way to go staff!!

Nice course but the greens were awful.
I've played this course 10 different times through the years and this was by far the worst shape I've ever seen the greens. They were patchy, what appeared to be 3 levels of grass. Was truly hard to putt with any consistency.
The staff was great and I've always enjoyed the the other courses too. Just sad to see this good courses greens so bad. Hopefully they'll get it back right soon!
Thank you for the very nice Four Star review of Panther's Run. We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. We apologize the greens were not at their best on this visit. We did overseed them with Poa Trivialis this winter and they were very nice for months, but they are going through the natural short-term transition brought on by the quick warm-up of the weather this year. They will improve quickly and should be in great shape for the remainder of 2024 and beyond. We hope you will visit us again and see our continued progress. Thanks again!
Coarse was under construction
I like the course layout I thought the clubhouse was very nice, but there was a lot of construction. The cart paths were very back jarring when I was done playing I was in some pain because of the construction that we had to drive over.
Nice course and friendly staff
I was a single but the course paired me up with a great group of guys to play with. Had a great time playing with them. Course was in good shape and pace of play was good.

My first review ever
Tee’d off 10 min late, took 2 hrs and 40 min to play the front nine and 5 hrs and 30 min overall. The ranger told us it was busy lol. It was so slow that the two groups of women in front of our foursome dropped 3 players at the turn and played as a fivesome and never lost ground to the group in front of them. Brutal. And the greens were patchy and inconsistent for this time of year.
We deeply apologize for the slow play issue you described below. As this is the height of our busiest season, play can sometimes be slower than ideal, due to the large volume of players on the course, many of whom might be playing the course for the first time. Our course marshals are instructed to try to keep play moving at a good pace, but sometimes this can be difficult, due to many factors. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further about this issue. If you would, please contact me directly at blong@oceanridge.com, as I would like to hear more about this matter and see what we can do to make amends. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Panther's Run. We apologize we fell short of your expectations on this visit. I will pass your feedback along to our director of agronomy and our golf director and I'm certain they can find a resolution to the issue you described. We hope you will visit us again soon and see our continued progress.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Panther's Run. We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. We apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you described. The course is transitioning from the winter Poa Trivialis to the warm season TifEagle bermuda and there is a short period during this transition in which the greens do appear off color and are not at their best. This transition is brought on by the weather conditions and varies from year to year. Fortunately it progresses quickly and the greens will be back in very good condition soon and should remain that way for the remainder of the spring, summer and fall, at which time we will transition back to the winter cover. We apologize again that you did not catch us at our best on the day you played, but we are working hard on all four Big Cats courses and will continue to strive to offer our guests a fun and memorable golf experience.
