Reviews
NOT THE SAME COURSE
Been playing here 3 to 4 times a month for about three years now and have watched the course conditions go from DECENT to VERY POOR in that time. The owners only employee 2 grounds keepers to keep up with this 7200 yd. course and only pay them minimum wage. Whenever I would go to the driving range and would ask to purchase range balls I would be told that they hadn't picked up the balls yet because they have to do it by hand and so to just to go over and hit all I wanted free of charge. This was the case every time for years which kinda sucked but I still got my swings in. Recently we went to play 2 booked rounds and went over and hit about 10 shots when we were approached by some new minimum wage clubhouse employee who drove up and said "this costs extra" then proceeded to tell us how people were taking advantage of it. Well if they would have balls picked up and available for purchase and not be telling people to just go over and hit free of charge most of the time, then this wouldn't be the case! TO SUM IT UP, THE PLACE IS JUST PETTY! Do yourself a favor and pay a little more and go 2 miles up the road to a real facility called GREYSTONE where they are sure to have very kept grounds, range balls and excellent staff who are paid above the minimum wage resulting in better service. AFTERALL, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
Great course
Great course I play there all the time. The greens are in fair shape. The bar is open now and Dales restaurant is a great place to eat. Go enjoy
Stay Away
This is an old course with a rickety club house. The guy at the counter was very nice but the place is creepy. I didn't care for the course, it was tight and most of the fairways had dirt on the edges... The greens were poor to fair with weeds and bad spots on most of them. I will not go back and I hope this review helps many of you stay away. I play from the black tees and I am a scratch golfer.
POOR MANAGEMENT HAS LET COURSE RUN DOWN!
I have been playing at PINE HILLS for over three years now and I can tell you it is not the same as it used to be. VERY UNDER-KEPT these days. The greens that used to be immaculate are now riddled with bare spots, ball marks and weeds. You can tell no one is looking after them at all, merely cutting them once in awhile. You may be only 15 feet from a green and find yourself in 6 inch high grass. I used to love playing here but doubt I will again until things change. WHAT A SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good fair, terrible greens
2 months ago these greens were the most true and plush I've ever played. Last weekend, there were dead patches, sand patches, many weeds growing up. Really took away from the experience.
Fine round for the price
This is a local course that I will only play when I book a hot deal with golf now. For the regular rates they charge, I will always go elsewhere. 2 other nearby courses have better rates and a more up to date facility. Overall, this is a fine place to play. The old "country club" facilities bring it down when you first drive up. The carts are out dated, but work just fine. If you just want a good round of golf, this is a great place. If you are looking for anything else, even a water fountain...you might be disappointed. The ball cleaners are mostly broken. There are no water coolers out on the course. You get the idea. BUT, the course is still maintained and fine for this area. Everyone there is very nice and easy going. For the $15-20 I typically spend booking through golf now, I will continue to go here. Paying more than that, I will go elsewhere.
Course better than expected.
We were visiting the area on vacation, and after looking at prices for other courses we decided to play this one. It was the cheapest one in the area, and it exceeded our expectations. The course was very well maintained, and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely play this course again when in the area. The only drawback to the course that I can see, it is not a walking course. It is very spaced out from green to the next tee. And the name of the course, Pine Hills, definitely describes it.
Different, but good course
This course has a good layout with lots of hills. The greens and fairways are in decent shape. Worth making the drive.
Hard course, but Fair
We all thought the course was tough, but scored ok. Greens were very slow, and hard to get use to. We intend to play it again....soon. Pace of play was excellent. We went after lunch and felt that we had the course to ourselves.
Great value for a challenging course
I've been in the Nashville area for two months, and this course presented the best value for my money so far. Loved the course layout, as there are a lot of hills and slopes from the natural terrain. Greens were in great shape and the course played very fair. Some bare spots on a few fairways and a few greens that seemed too small for the hole (i.e. #9). For $25 via Hot Deal for a Sunday morning, we felt like we had the course to ourselves. Definitely a course more people should frequent. Not much in terms of extra amenities, but that doesn't bother me.
Great greens
Friendly staff and a great place to play!
VERY CHALLENGING 18
Let me start by saying I love Pine Hills, from the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff, to the well kept fairways and the best greens around, this course will test even seasoned golfers. A MUST PLAY WHEN IN THE DICKSON AREA.
All Golf no glan
the course is phenomenal. When you pull in you think the place is closed but once you get on the course you don't really care about the "clybhouse". The course conditions were top notch. Definitely worth the drive. Very hilly and lots of doglegs. Every hole is interesting and challenging. Greens were in great shape but slow.
Great value
This is a great course for the money. Well kept. GREAT greens. Always mowed. Roughs could use some Bush hogging but other than that wonderful course for the money. Has some great holes that are very scenic.
Up and Down Course.
It was a rainy day and the course was very wet from heavy rains the day and night before. I believe the course should have been closed because of the wetness. There was no roll on your tee shots which made the course play much harder. However, the greens were great as they rolled true and smoothly, but were slow because of the wetness.
Great Experience
My first time playing this course was very enjoyable. I plan to play it again real soon.
Hard to find but worth it
My GPS took me to the wrong place and the guy behind the counter said that was common. It was a bit hard to find and there is no sign leading you in. It looks like it useto be a state of the art country club back in theday but now the olympic pool and tennis courts are run down and overgrown with moss. Fortunately, the golf course is still nice. Very beautiful and well manicured. The club house was old and appeared a little run down but in all fairness I didn't spend much time in there. The course play was a bit confusing and and I spent some time guessing on where the next hole was. This problem could be fixed with about 5 more signs directing you to the next hole. Had a great time and the staff was friendly.
Decent for the price
A little ran down but enjoyable challenging course. Has a lot of potential. No course layout on score card and some tee boxes and fairways need some work overall good for the prices
Always a pleasure
I play this course a couple of times a month and I always find it challenging but pleasurable. The course is well maintained, staff is friendly, and rates are reasonable. Bottom line love to play at Pine Hills.
Don't avoid this course because of this review. The amenities are not great but the course is great. It's challenging and the greens are way better than Greystone.
