Will challenge all aspects of your game - and the wildlife!
Played on a very chilly Saturday about noon. Had the course early to ourselves and it allowed us to enjoy the course more than ever before. The layout is challenging, forces you to hit some tight drives, shape a couple, use most all of the clubs in your bag, will absolutely challenge your short game with some postage stamp greens and then the undulation once you do get there can make you crazy. Overall it is a beautiful course and really nice layout. Most every hole we had whitetail deer grazing and observed several 8-10 point bucks as it was close to the rut season. the staff was very friendly, and made it a point to thank us for repairing our ball marks as we were finishing. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition and surprisingly quick greens considering the amount of rain that had recently moved through the area. The course is not overly long but, again, some of the shots that you have to hit will make you think and plan rather than just grabbing driver every hole.
1st time playing it for years
Because of the time of year, I gave it 4 stars, but that is Mother Nature.
It would have been 5 stars if this were Spring or Summer, because of all the leaves. Nobody's fault for that. Also at this time there were no yardage markers or tee markers so I was really guessing on yardage. The new driving range isnt ready yet, but will be great next year. I overheard someone say we will be able to hit driver on it, which is a great reason why I'll definitely be coming back many times next year and years to come, even though I live on the west end of Columbus, it will definitely be worth the drive. PLUS, theres a brand new clubhouse which I hadnt seen before and looks real nice, with nice people working there.
And the course is challenging, but fair, if you play with some strategy.
EVEN BETTER,a very friendly Bambi greeted me as I came up near the 1st green. Hope I can post the photo for y'all.
Old Lady Gone
I have not been to this course in over three years and I see that today there has been a lot of changes for the better. The last time I came to this course I swore I would never come back because of the experience I had with the old lady at the pro shop. She was rude evil and nasty. It was quite a blessing to check in today and to hear that she retired yesterday. It made my day and I had a great time golfing. I can tell that the staff was also in such a better mood. I am glad she is going and I can see myself telling others and coming back to play again.
Great time
Great course, well kept. Played in three hours. Not rushed. Saw deer, turkeys, etc. greens true. Good value
Fix 15
Course is nice design. Challenging.
#15 needs improved err ended layup area. It’s only hole that is bad one. Just extend fairway.
Great Design
This is one of the best designed public courses I’ve played. It was also in very strong condition today with firmer greens compared to what I often see.
Good challenging course
Some tee boxes had a lot of crab grass. Greens were soft due to rain and many marks were not taken care of by golfers. A shame. Fairways were well maintained. Weather was a bear. Extremely hot and muggy. Was beat after 14 holes.
Really nice course
Really nice course. Manicured really. I don’t want my review to reflect my score. I shot terrible. One of my worst scores. I’m not sure how challenging the course was or how bad I was just shooting. But the course layout was awesome. Had some good hills and very approachable greens. I will be back.
