Round Valley Golf Course

About
Round Valley Golf Course is located in Morgan, Utah which is about 30 minutes east of Ogden City. It is privately owned but is open to the public. It's the only golf course in the area so it does cater to the local golf scene but the staff and locals generally go out of there way to make foreigners feel at home. A few amenities that set Round Valley apart from other courses in the area are the camping facilities and an on-site bar and lounge. The camp sites are located between the fairways and the Weber River so guests can enjoy fishing and outdoor cooking in addition to a round of golf. Reserve and pay for camping in the golf course clubhouse. The course itself is made up of two 9-hole courses that were built over 20 years apart. The front 9 is the older and includes many mature trees and large sand bunkers that have grown deeper with age. The back 9 is younger and the use of modern earth moving and grading equipment has given the tees and fairways a sharper definition. Several streams, ditches, ponds and areas of long wild rough are present to hinder the player from tee to green. The longer holes are fairly open and allow players to let loose for distance. The shorter holes tend to favor accuracy as they contain most of the severe hazards.

Round Valley Golf Course
Perfect weather! Amazing course! Friendly Staff! It is located in a perfect mountain side that I had no idea about! Will make sure to be returning!! Thank you for the great course and staff!!
Greens in good shape
Staff was friendly. Overall course in good shape. Hope to play again when we're in town
Wide open
The course plays well for anyone who sprays the ball.
New club house beeded
Showed up and walked into a clubhouse that was old and had the most horrendous smell in it. Couldn't pay and get out fast enough. Then we were overcharged from what the golf now price should of been. The course was nice just need to make sure you plug your nose and double check what you're paying.
Round Valley
Very few cart paths from hole to hole, very confusing.
Course not in great shape.
One gentleman playing barefoot.
The group in front of us had 4 small children in cart and where letting the kids hit
shots and created very slow play.
The group in front of them had to much to drink and could barly walk let alone play.
Will not return.
Great place to place on a Hot day
Lots of mature trees for shade. Plays next to the beautiful Weber River.. Played late in afternoon in 100 degree weather, very enjoyable with the natural breeze .
Great course. NO FOOD
The club house is super old and run down and they don't really have food other than plain hot dogs and chips and the course is pretty far from where i live so if you play you should stop for food and drinks. The course on the other hand was in great condition! Really cool scenery and water features along with some big trees.
beautiful mountain and river scenery
Round Valley G.C. fairly easy, flat course is great for a summer getaway from the heat of the valley. We played as a twosome behind several other twosomes and the pace (less 1:40hr) for the first nine holes was perfect. However; as we made the turn we found that a foursome (2 of which were kids) were put out in front of us (BOO!). Had the course manager noticed that far behind us there was a walking threesome, he would have waited to put this foursome out. We were told that they 'sneak' people out on the back nine, which made the last nine holes slow. Better tee time management is needed. I will return but with a foursome as to help maintain an even pace of play.
Rude
First and last time I will play this course. Staff was pretty rude and didn't even say anything to me but my last name as I checked in. They didn't call me for my tee time and I was told to just go when ready. Pace of play on the front nine was quick, but I hit a group on the back nine that was crazy slow and wouldn't let me play threw. Course was in pretty okay shape, but nothing to go crazy over. Overall this course is for locals, and if your not a local it will be known and you will be treated differently.
This course is in great shape
The overall pace was fast. It's a little out of the way but well worth the drive. I play this course usually 1 to 2 times a season and I must admit who ever is taking care of the greens and fairways is doing a great job. The green roll even with just enough slope to challenge your putting. I will definitely return.
Good deal
The distance in golfnow should be driving distance.
best course for the money in utah, nevada, and california!!!
this course will amaze you with how well it is maintained and kept... beautiful vistas from many tee boxes, fairways and greens... not much for clubhouse amenities, but a great course for people who love to play a great round of golf... don't play the blue tees unless you hit it LONG!!!
Course is needing some TLC
Pace of play was fast of course for 2pm on a Thursday with 90 degree weather. I got around in 2 hrs. Best part of the round was the pace. "Starter" woman was friendly enough. It had been a few years since I played here. Not trying to be unfair, but the course could use some extra care. For the location it could really be one of the best in the area. I understand it's more for the locals, but offering my opinion anyway. Worth the low rate you can get on golfnow.
Great Getaway
What a nice place to get out of the city and spend a beautiful afternoon in the country enjoying the birds, scenery and golf.
We would play it again!
Round Valley is in excellent condition. Lots of grass, and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking!
Sweet Find
This river course is a super find. It was in great condition and the greens are nice and smooth.
We got a fantastic deal and there were hardly any golfers to slow play.
Close if you live in Davis County but an easy trip up the canyon to get there.
Great canyon views.
We had the course all to ourselves with very few people playing. It is just a little out of the way for Salt Lake City players so it was a great place for my wife to enjoy the day without any pressure.
Good course. Not spectacular, but fun. Back nine more challenging than front.
This was a bit of a surprise. I'd played the course about seven years ago and found it poorly kept up and disappointing. It's much different now. The fairways were in great shape. The greens rolled pretty well, although there were a few with some burned-out spots on the front nine. I would like to have seen them grow out the rough for a bit more of a challenge, but it had been recently mowed. Still, the course's appearance spoke of attention and care, which was infinitely better than the last time I played it.
The front nine is flat and relatively simple, with a few water hazards for challenge. Not the most challenging, but fun and a great walk. The back has some more challenging terrain, as well as a couple of longer holes (which played especially long into the wind!).
Overall, it's a s good, but not great, course, and worth a visit if you're in the area. It's also a good value and an easy course to walk.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot - there were cows on the 14th tee. Not by the tee, ON the tee. The wind and the cows reminded me of golfing at Brora in Scotland. Very cool.
