The Barn Golf Club

About
The Barn gets its name from a big white barn that has been converted to the lounge. In fact the course used to be named The White Barn. The course is fairly flat as it was built on farmland. The holes make good use of many mature trees and several ponds. But, the most penal hazard consists of the cow pastures outside of the boundary fences.
One very unique feature of this course is that there are zero sand bunkers. To compensate for the missing greenside obstacle the grass is usually maintained as long rough in front of and around the greens. For a good short game day practice plenty of short chips from long rough before heading out.
The Barn is a great place for groups composed of golfers of different ability levels. It's short and forgiving enough for the high handicapper but risk/rewarding enough for better golfers.
There are a surprising number of memorable holes. The second hole is a short dog leg around a pond. A lay up is the safe play but it's rumored that big hitters can drive the green.
The third hole was recently nominated as one of the top par 5s in the area. A long drive will allow a risky shot at the green in two. It must be straight enough to avoid the fence to the left, high enough to clear a group of tall trees and long enough to carry a pond guarding the green. Number 9 is a very reachable par 5. But be careful off the tee as a drive of over 220 yards will end up in the water.
Green fees are less than $20. The Pro Shop staff is very helpful and there is a snack bar and a full service lounge. Be sure to stop in the lounge to watch golf on the big screen after your round.

good course condition
The course was well maintained and the staff were kind.
The Barn
I would say that the barn is probably the best value in the state. The staff are always nice the greens are always fast and smooth. There’s a challenging feature on every hole and you start out number one is a par five which I enjoy
Great old course
I hadn't played the Barn for 40 years and it is wonderful. It is an easy walk, the course is in good shape and it is a fun day out. I highly recommend playing it if it has been a few years or if you have never played it.
My new home course
Just moved to Pleasant View and have been anticipating playing the local course - the Barn. Did not disappoint.
Pro shop folks were great - very friendly and helpful. The front nine was quite challenging. Some tight fairways, water and other hazards made you think about your next shot carefully. The back nine was a bit more forgiving, but still fun. Tee boxes were in good shape and fairways were amazing. The greens were quite firm. I had a hard time keeping approach shots from rolling off. Pace of play was great. We allowed a couple of 2-somes to play though our 4-some on the front. Finished in just over 4 hours. Will be back often!
Fun Course to Play
Fun course to play. Each hole has its own unique character making this a great layout. No two holes are alike and there's plenty of variation including left & right doglegs, water hazards, and some slight elevation.
Slow but very good round
We haven’t played The Barn GC is a few years, so it was highly anticipated when our group decided to book a round; check in was smooth and efficient, and the course was in very good shape despite the frost delay; the only real issue was that there was a men’s league event that was in front of our group, and they were very slow and deliberate; we did get to know the twosome that was between us and the league players whom we got to know quite well as we met on most tee boxes; overall the round was very enjoyable, and I welcome another opportunity to play The Barn GC.
Great play, fairly busy
It was a Saturday, the course was in great condition even with the rain coming down before the day. I ended up waiting a while to tee off on most holes, granted I was playing solo and most players let me play through!
Overall very solid
Good course
Great course but they need to spread the tee times just a bit. Their was at least a 3 group pileup on every hole
Is a good layout and lots of room if you have beg.- interm. golfers and wont punish you if you hit the errent shot.
Wide fairway’s but tricky water
This was a fine, well maintained golf course. We played 9 holes and was very satisfied with the quality and challenges of each hole. The fairway were wide and the rough was manageable. The greens putted true. I would come back any time to play
Great course
Pace of play was perfect no waiting on the tee box. Semi fast greens. Course layout suitable for all levels of golfers
Fun Course Beautiful Views
This is just a fun course to play. Great layout not overly difficult but still some water coming into play along the course. Greens were in very good shape especially for early season play.
