Lakeside Golf Course

About
Originally a nine-hole course when opening in 1966, Lakeside Golf Course expanded to 18 holes in 1993. The course, located close to downtown Salt Lake City, boasts views of the Wasatch Mountains. It is suitable for players of all abilities. The course was built on relatively flat terrain that features plenty of water. Half of the holes have water hazards coming into play. Lakeside Golf Course makes accuracy a priority rather than distance with several out of bounds areas and holes that are short and tight. The facility also has a practice range as well as putting and chipping areas for golfers to use.

Challenging but Well Maintained
First off I booked through the golf now app so the price was $37 for 18 with a cart which is a screaming deal for this quality of course. The staff didn't seem to know what golf now is and unable to see my paid tee time but someone from their staff figured it out. Other than that, I went to the cafe and grabbed food, was exceptional. Played 18 with two other buddies and the course was very green, well maintained. The leafs were mostly off the fairways. The course itself is very challenging for a high handicapped like myself with lots of water and tight fairways but will definitely playing here often.
Interesting fall/winter round
Lakeside GC is a course we have enjoyed playing over the years, but the pace of play has become quite tiresome; we waited on every shot behind the 4-some and other groups that were in front of us on the front 9, but luckily many of the groups in front of us only played 9-holes and our back 9 was unhindered. We actually let two groups (a 2-some and a single) play through us on hole #15.
One major issue was the bathrooms which are on the front 9 was locked, and there wasn’t any water in the sinks in the men’s bathroom. I really feel if you are restricting amenities on the course that they should not be charging full green fee rates. The cafe was also closed, so there wasn’t any opportunity for drinks or snacks.
Out of stater..
First time playing this course as I'm visiting from out of state. Course conditions weren't weren't bad per se, but it's not a course that's going to challenge an intermediate or better player. And no I would not recommend this to again a better player for beginners and seniors I think it'd be fine.
Fun and tough
Tough course lots of places to lose balls but very fun and it’s always good to have a challenge
For $17 this course is decent
It rained pretty hard the day before so cart rentals were out of play. Course was easily walkable. Greens were in pretty bad shape with debris on quite a few holes.
