Rolling Hills Golf Course

About
Rolling Hills Golf Course is located less than an hour north of Tacoma in Bremerton, Washington. Opened in 1972, the course has a classic layout that is just over 5,900 yards from the back tees. It's not a particularly long course but it still has plenty of challenges in store with tight fairways and blind tee-shots throughout. Mature trees frame the fairways and greens. It's an easy walking course since the terrain is mostly flat except for some gentle undulations in the greens. There are some tricky holes that will test your accuracy but overall, the layout is player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range available. Rolling Hills is popular with local golfers since it's a good challenge for the price.

A challenging round of golf on a cloudy day in July
checked in and was told that we would start on Hole #10 and we might find the greens were a little slow. No complaints, thought the greens rolled to about a 8 or 9 on the stimp meter and as a recreational golfer didn't object to the speed of the greens. It had been years since I played this course. I would like to go back and play the course from the #1 tee. Condition of the rest of the course was average. Played out of three bunkers and the sand was different in each one. Staff were very nice.
Relaxing Course
We got the super saver special from Golf Now for $17 with a cart. Great price and I'd expect to pay at least twice that on any other day. The course is a relaxed pace. Not too many golfers seem to be in a hurry, but still play fast enough to not be annoying. The staff is relaxed and friendly, except the bartender in the club house acted all uptight when I asked for ice. And I guess I was also the only one that he told not to take beer onto the course because there sure was a lot of it.
The course is being well maintained. A couple of the greens seemed really wet even though there hasn't been much rain lately. Even the drier greens are fairly slow as some others have pointed out. The carts are in great shape too.
I would definitely play Rolling Hills again, but I'll be sure to bring my own ice next time.
nice design , slow greens
nice layout, slow greens driving range and practice area
Good for the cost
Not a bad place to play for the cost. Don't expect fancy but the price is great. Fairways had clumps of grass clippings throughout where the grass was actually green. Greens look so great, howevere they were so slow. Practice on your area rugs to get use to speed. Perhaps they are putting all the water on the greens and little to the fairways. Many greens were very soft (spongy). That all said, I did have a good time and will come back. The young lady at the desk was very polite and helpful even when an obvious regular cut the line to pay for her 9 holes.
Great little course for the money
Great little course, only 5900+ yards from the back tees. The course was in good shape, only 1 green with a little damage. The fairways did have some dry spots but over all the course was in good shape. The clubhouse is a bit dated, but I was there for the golf.
Toasty
This course offers the best deals. Unfortunately the greens were very slow. Tee off time @ 1046 and was a very fast round. This summer has been brutal on so many courses here in WA State. If you are looking for a quick affordable round it's Pperfect. Staff was very friendly and they have unlimited refills on iced tea.
Grin & Bear It
Perfect day-hot but not scorching. Paired up with a threesome. My cart partner was great, but the other cart had a few beers along the way and that changed the personality of one of the players and turned an otherwise fun time into the opposite. Had to grin & bear it, but managed.
The course and the staff was fine.
Their priorities are mixed up
They allow walk in players at any time disregarding the teetimes that were reserved, we ended up starting 15 minutes late and we had a lot of walk ins in front of us which made it for a long day
Good condition but super slow greens
The course is in good shape, especially considering how hot and dry it's been recently. The greens were soft, it was good for spinning the ball, but putts were very very slow. There was no marshall on the course, so it took 3 or more holes to be able to play through a slow group, and we were not able to play through the last five holes. There seemed to be a lot of older players that have a sense of "ownership" over the course and didn't care about making players behind them wait five minutes every shot.
Course was in great condition
The course was in great condition....fast greens....
very friendly pro shop
Great people
I have always had a great time ad have played with many very nice people there. Ted Hudanich is a nice head pro and has always treated me well. Great course to play if you need to work on the game without worrying about score.
Gem in Bremerton
If you're looking for a great little course for a great price, try Rolling Hills. It's not a long course, but has some tight fairways that make it challenging enough to be fun. Definitely a great reason for a ferry ride on the weekend.
Good value
This facility offers a good value and the course is pretty easy to walk. The staff is very friendly.
Go somewhere else...
A lot of people like this course because of the fair prices and the short drive. I will gladly drive anywhere on the Kitsap peninsula to not go here. The people on the course when I have played are nothing but drunkerds. I've seen a group of people hitting their ball from the cart they were driving. If you hit you ball off the fairway you'll have to deal with those little white flowers when trying to find your ball. If you want to play with a cart during the weekend, wait until 3pm and go to gold mountain or whitehorse. These courses have amazing conditions and the prices match those conditions. The food is way over priced. 5 bucks for a hotdog on the turn is rediculous. I played one time with greens that were half sand half green, with no discount on the price. Bottom line: go somewhere else.
Walking around
This course is great for walking. Tees are mostly right next to the preceding green. Great mature trees to admire and hopefully avoid.
Great course for intermediate players
Course is in good shape. Recommend for our intermediate players.
Great Place
this was the first time I had played this course. the pro shop is small but the staff were friendly and got us in and out quickly. The course was in good shape for this time of year, rain in the NW. the greens were as hard as I have seen in a long time. Nothing would hold, no such thing as a ball mark. Will go back, had a great time.
VERY Pleasant surprise
Pro Shop and restaurant not very good first impression but friendly staff and BEAUTIFUL course was what really matters!! We are eager to return. Course beautifully maintained.. (this is rainy season so there were MUDDY spots but to be understood). Wide open Fairways .. Greens nicely groomed.. Nice Driving Range ..No big secret surprises. Map of course was helpful
Carts were clean and ready!
Did not see any other women on course but that is not atypical (Unfortunately). Other players seemed to know their way around and were moderately friendly.
Eh
Do not go if it is raining the course does not drain very well
Ice golf day
Frozen golf course, temp green's, a grudge match that had to be played! (i won $16.00 )
