A nice lesson in player-friendly design
The latter decades of the 20th century are known as a time when golf courses became significantly more difficult, especially for mid- and high-handicap golfers. The Spokane County-owned MeadwowWood Golf Course is a notable exception.
Wide fairways and generous greens define MeadowWood. There are several dozen bunkers, but they are mostly broad and quite shallow. The green complexes tend to feature expansive fairway-length grass surrounding the putting surfaces, as well as punchbowl-like gathering slopes that tend to corral marginal shots. These friendly features make MeadowWood popular among locals. The course does finish on an odd note, with two fairly tight and demanding closing holes, but overall you should not have a terrible time playing to your handicap here.
Meadow Wood Golf Coarse
Meadow wood had great fairways and tee boxes with difficult areas for every player of the game. The greens even with a full day of rain the day before, the greens were really hard and fast. Overall the rest of the coarse was green and very well maintained including the ball cleaning stands and the trash.
I would play this coarse again.
Meadow Wood is a great place to test your game
I found Meadow Wood to be in excellent shape and thoroughly enjoyed my round. I was able to get out first thing in the morning and got paired up with a local named Mike who was a pleasure to play with.
The course was in terrific shape. Many bunkers were being replaced with new sand, maintenance was out in full force keeping this course looking great. I had many favorite holes, too many to list. A few of them were 7,9,11,& 12.
The course offers lots of water and sand hazards and some houses on the back 9. The only thing this course lacked was GPS in the carts, that would put this course over the top.
One downer of my round, around 9 am a women's league came out and started like a shotgun format and totally killed our momentum. Like most women's groups I've come across, they were rude, slow, and didn't even recognize that they jumped in front of us and were slowing down 2 fast players. Shame on the pro shop for allowing this to happen.
this may be a challenging course is on of the best ive been for the cash.
I love meadowood i go at least once a week and i practice there just about everyday.
