Aeration and top dressed
GolfNow did not have any information that the course was under rehab. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The greens were not, large holes punched and sand everywhere. It was impossible to really putt. Our fault for not checking moccasin runs website as they do advertise that they are aerated and top dress for the winter, but wish GolfNow would have the same information.
One of my favorite courses in the area
This course never disappoints. The water holes are fun to play.
Amazing Conditions
I've played this course numerous times throughout the years & the conditions just keep getting better & better. Highly recommend to any golfer!
Not very happy
This course used to be a hidden gem in the southern eastern Pennsylvania area through the last few years they have continued to raise their rates exponentially
We understand the cost of golf has went up, but they are now at $100 price point during the peak season when in reality there are $45 course
I played there the other day with a deal time deal And I feel like I got a fair value for my money, but the greens rolled very inconsistent, they were not true nor would they hold their line, the speed of the greens were fine, but the pace of play was a huge issue for me
It took me five hours and 20 minutes to play 18 holes
Great course
Perfect conditions.
Take your $80 elsewhere
I have played a lot of golf. Public and private. Decent course, a little crowded due to layout etc. (wear a helmet). Lousy golf staff. Ranger and Pro need to check themselves. We were a 4some played in less that 4 hours (waiting on 15+ shots) and warned by ranger..
twice.
Take your money elsewhere...Wyncote etc. This isn't worth $80.
Immaculate
First time playing this course, can guarantee that it won’t be the last. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all were in great shape. Liked the overall course and will be playing again soon.
Wow, they got expensive!
This course use to be a great value but the green fees have become pretty high for a mid level at best course. I will say it is in really good shape for this time of year. The front 9 lay out is flatter and easier than the back. The back 9 holes tend to run up and down the hillside. Honestly with rounds on the weekend at $80 and mid week now $60, I will likely just drive an extra 15 minutes to play the two courses a little further west and save some money.
What a great course
This was my first time playing here and I have played private and high dollar public courses and I must say the course conditions was just as good. Pace of play was steady even having a scramble on the course. Tough course alit of dog legs and hills on the back 9 but I highly recommend
Beautiful course, poor layout
Course was one of the best maintained I've played this year. Some difficult holes and some easier. The staff was friendly and personable. Would like to recommend, but the layout is poor. The holes are practically on top of one another. Too congested and tight for me personally.
Needs some time
I play here a few times a year and it’s typically in great shape and a decent value. Many call it a hidden gem. It’s walkable which I like. Conditions are usually great. But some goofy weather here hurt slot of the greens in the area. This course aerated April 2. We had a cold spell after and even some snow in May. Greens haven’t come back yet. Zero break and incredibly inconsistent speeds. Otherwise it was an enjoyable round.
Slow Player
I played with my daughter on Saturday the 12th. We were behind a foursome who would not let us play through. The twosome in front of them would be 2 holes in front of them, and still they would not let us through. One person in the group took 40 seconds (timed) to set up EACH shot. I realize that the pros get 45 seconds to set up their shots, but this guy was no pro. PLUS, he would get down on one knee on every green to line up his putts. The group was IGNORANT!!!! And to dispel the misconception that women golfers are slow, my daughter was taught to play ready golf AND she also plays on her college team. It took the 2 of us over 5 hours to play a course we have played in less than 4.
Greens not what they use to be.
I have always enjoyed playing this course for its' excellent turf conditions and nice variety of holes. Over the last two years , I have noticed a deterioration of the appearance and rollability of the putting surfaces. Presently, the greens are a mixture of a number of different strains of grass which made them slow and a true roll was the exception rather than the rule. Disappointing and I hope they put more time and attention into getting the greens back up to speed.
Moccasin Run
A nice public course, nothing great - but its a nice round of golf and the course was in good shape. Some pretty scorable holes, especially on the front....some nice risk/reward holes on the back. We played the whites, and looks quite a bit longer from the blues.
You need to know your yardages on a few holes where doglegs and water come into play.
This isn't a golf course review. We are here for course reviews not a review of the time you played it with your daughter and had one bad group you did nothing about other than time them...
