Idlewild Golf Course

About
Situated just next to Potawatomie State Park, Idewild Golf Course enjoys scenic views from almost every hole. The course itself is colored with a variety of native vegetation that complements the lush, well manicured greens and fairways. The rolling terrain provides plenty of interesting contours that range from subtle to dramatic. It is a challenging course that offers plenty of risk-reward opportunities. There is plenty of water and sand coming into play throughout the golf course. The most talked-about hole is the tough par-5 ninth where reaching the island green in two is only possible for the longest and most accurate of hitters. There are mature forests to the right, a fairway bunker, and a towering elm tree in the center and not to mention the green itself is large and undulating.

No better time to play Idlewild
Leaves are changing colors but fairways and greens are 100% green. Lots of space between groups. Deal on GolfNow was a hit with the group. They’re keeping the course in excellent condition.
Very walkable course. Layout of holes at times tricked up. Some landing areas are hidden. Greens are in good shape. Definitely need more yardage markers.
Idlewild
Grear course. Well maintained. Some challenging holes. Lots of beauty as well. Friendly staff
Such beauty
We love this course and play every time in Sturgeon Bay.
It’s a beautiful course and plays well.
What pandemic?
News Flash: Covid 19 is out there. This is the only golf course in Door County we've played where masks are not required in pro shop. Overall Door County is much more considerate of their clientele (masks and distancing) than the rest of northern Wisconsin.
We did not see drinking water anywhere on this 18 hole course.
Nice Course
Greens and fairways in very good conditions, tee boxes are a little beat-up. The emerald ash borer has taken it toll. Time to take down the dead ash trees. All in all a nice course for a casual round of golf.
Challenging
My son and I are “golf when we can” and it ain’t too often. It was a brutal course because we lost a slew of balls. But we enjoyed the course regardless. We play to bond and enjoyed the course Immensely. It can he be fun for all abilities. We will come back when we get back to Door Co. area. We both highly recommend this course for anyone.
Played early in the morning and had no problem with pace of play. The course was very nice. A few spots a little beat up, but not bad. Greens were awesome. Staff was very friendly.
First time
We loved this course. It was well maintained, beautiful, spacious and super clean. Staff was also really friendly.
Although there is COVID 19 going on, we didn’t see any special care taken. No plexiglass, no masks, We didn’t see a cleaning station.
No signs or markings to keep people apart.
The course was great though.
