About
The private, 18-hole course at Pine Tree Country Club is known for its well-manicured greens. Designed by George Cobb, a known architect in Birmingham, the course features wide fairways. Water hazards as well as bunkers come into play on some holes. Although there are a few tricky elements, the course provides an enjoyable round of golf for all skill levels. Pine Tree Country Club's signature hole is the par-4 3rd hole. There are stately trees to the left and a lake on the right side of the fairway, which demand shot accuracy.

Pine Tree boasts fine collection of par 3s
Pine Tree is a George Cobb design that is best remembered for an outstanding collection of par threes.
All four present unique challenges. The second hole plays ~185 yards over water to a two-tiered green. No. 7 plays a bit shorter than the second, albeit uphill to a narrow green bordered by a creek. No. 11 offers a green with exacerbated slope and is guarded by two deep bunkers. No. 16 is the shortest of the four but again, plays uphill with a false front. Any shot to a front pin placement that is short our right will collect off the putting surface.
Pine Tree is also memorable for dramatic doglegs. Three consecutive holes on the back nine play left to right off the tee, led by the difficult 14th. However, a player that draws the ball will find the majority of the holes to their liking. Dog-leg left holes are on display at holes 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, 17 and 18th.
The greens were rolling great post-aeration a month ago.
The Alabama Men's Amateur will be played here later this summer and several improvements aesthetically have been implemented, noticeably the fairway bunkering on 18.
