Immaculate shape
The greens and fairways are in perfect shape. I play all around and this course is in as good shape as the RTJ courses, if not better. Some area courses have spotty greens and fairways, but not this one. I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course.
Only complaint was they need more water on the course in midsummer.
Beautiful, challenging, affordable
I love this course. Million dollar views with wide open fairways and lots of elevation changes. But it’s a park, so it won’t break the bank. Staff was great. Nice range and practice green.
ANother good time
Played my first round year last.
Still a beautiful and fun course.
Scenic splendour
Exactly what you would expect from a mountain course in a state park., rolling hills, elevation changes and gorgeous views. Definitely worth the drive.
Nice course
Challenging course. Fast greens. Nice layout. Well maintained. Great value.
Great course
I played this course recently. It is a beautiful course with mountain too views. I booked a $16.00 hot deal which made it great.
CCHALLENGING COURSE WITH ROLLING FAIRWAYS
VERY CHALLENGING COURSE WITH ROLLING WIDE FAIRWAYS AND MOSTLY ELEVATED BERMUDA GRASS GREERS. GREENS WERE IN VERY GGOD CONDITION BUT WERE VERY FIRM AND VERY FAST. SOME SAND TRAPS DID NOT SHOW ON THE SCORECARD AND WHEN YOU COME UP SHORT ON YOUR APPROACH YOU WOULD LIKELY BE IN A TRAP. MOST APPROACH SHOTS REQUIRED 1-3 CLUBS EXTRA BECAUSE OF THE ELEVATION CHANGE. VERY HARD FOR A SENIOR SHORT HITTER.
Loved it!
First time for this course, but it won't be the last. Had a great day of golf. If you can find it, it's a terrific course. Not too easy but yet not too difficult. Fast greens and very nice fairways. My only gripe was that the beer was expired by 4 months and they had no coolers.
Course is in good shape
Had a great round on a beautiful day. Greens were in good shape as were the fairways and tees boxes. It's worth the $32 they would normally charge but who can turn down $13 for a course like this.

Nice Course - But...
Course is nice and in great shape. We played with Golf Now. Not treated so well by staff. Made us wait to pair with others that were late for tee time. Ran down by staff. Once we got going, we played the front 9 at a good pace. After the turn there were new players in front of us. They were slow...like at least a half hour per hole and they had no etiquette. We left the course after playing 14 holes. It would have been at least 2 hours to finish the last four holes. Bummer for us since we drove from Huntsville.
Beautiful summer day
The course is in excellent condition except for the sand traps. The corse design is excellent and the course is more open since the tornado from a few years ago took out numerous trees.
well worth it
wide open course. good layout and challeging. greens are deceiving but in good shape. nice views from top of the hills. would definatly play again if down there in that area.
Had a blast
Course was in great shape for winter.
Greens rivaled every course I've played this winter.
As for all the folks complaining about the staff member, they need to read the rules about using hot deals. All he is doing is following the rules.
He may seem a bit gruff, but is a good fellow if treated fairly. If you are late, you are in the wrong, not him. He is going by the specs of the hot deal.
Remember golf is an honorable game. You people who don't follow the rules and then get mad at someone else, need to grow up, or find another game.
Discounts not very welcome
It's a pretty nice course for the money, with great view's of the lake in a few spots. A word of warning if you're playing with a discount (GolfNow), don't expect to feel welcome. I always arrive around 45 mins before tee time to hit range balls and putt, you won't get your cart until 15-20 mins before your tee time. The staff also advised me that the course makes no money when players use these discounts, so they ensure you do not start before your scheduled tee time by holding the cart.

That's not good, normally all I use is golfnow. Was thinking about this course but may think better off it. Honestly if you don't like people booking on golf now, take your course off of it.
