Good forgiving course. No sand traps and not much water hazards.
If you don't like playing out of sand traps, this course is right up your alley. None. The course is forgiving on approach shots but off the tee, you better be driving the ball well. Narrow tee shots and plenty off trees.
The course is kept up well and is fun to play. For the cost it is best you can get.
Trying to stay positive
Don't pay full price for this course. I get that it's winter but this is not worth time or money. Condition of the greens was horrible.
Saloon Atmosphere
Sadly, the group of golfers inside the clubhouse where loud and crude during their after play drinking session.
Plays very long
Course was wet and very wet in some places.
Said 90 degrees but should have been Cart Path Only.
This course plays very long so you can't play the blue like at other courses.
Trust after nine you will be running up to the white.
A few greens were horrible but ;some were good as well.
Challenging course
The course is nice overall. I find it a long course for the par layout. For a once a month recreational golfer a 400 plus yard par 4 is crazy. Other than distance I enjoyed the course and probably will play again for the price.
Royal Time at Royal
I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon at Royal. As a senior, I appreciated the accommodating staff. Cliff was very helpful.
A dependable course when others are cart path inly
Normal winter conditions. You can Always can get a tee time. I have not ever had a problem with a Very good pace. The Greens test your accuracy and are usually adequate but the weather has a few needing improvement. The club house personnel have always been cordial and polite. For golfers that jump around to play a variety of courses, adding Royal to your list will give you a break with expense and a different type course and layout. If you enjoy it, come back like I did , if you don’t move on to your next course. Enjoy your round where ever you go.
good course
Mostly flat with some elevation change with lots of trees in areas. Back nine more interesting than front. The 18th hole is par 5 that makes a u turn, need to drive past marker to have angle for second shot. Course in good shape, tees fairways and greens. Would play again. People very friendly.
Not Bad For Price
Not a bad course for the price. Decently challenging holes with water and trees. Course is pretty open on the front nine. Back nine tightens up quite a bit. Very fun course to play.
Great Value, well maintained
Fairways and greens are in very nice condition. Lots of trees with some challenging narrow fairways and shots over water.
Suppose to rate the course not how golfer act while they drink. Its a SOUTHERN THING!
