Indian Springs Golf Club

About
If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Caught it on a great day
Starting from hole 1 I was playing by myself following another onesome. We both played about the same place and passed a few couples on hole 3 and 4. We kept pace and finished in 2 hours and 20 mins not running in to another player.
Great Experience
My wife and I played in the afternoon, which is the best time to play in Palm Springs if you can accept the +30C degree temperature. We played in 3.5 hours, not rushing and had lunch ready for us at the turn (great burgers!!).
The course is in good condition. The greens were smooth.
I would play here again!
Last round in the desert
Played last round in the desert. Course was in great condition. Greens were smooth and fast. Fairways are wide. Course is forgiving and can be scored on. Lots of birdie holes.
Easy course
Big Rock had few surprises for our first time playing. A rather easy course to play.
No one to be found
Longest round of the year.
Very slow and no one other the starter who was on the 10th tee. Big Rock had some kind of concert going on that night and it was clear where their priorities laid.
Started us on the 10th tee, the restaraunt was closed to the public and after nearly 5 hours we had to quit after 14 holes.
Affordable Hot Deal but still not worth the hassle.
Great course...could use MORE bathrooms on a hot day.
The course was great and the staff was very attentive. They checked on my several times with fresh ice, cleaned my clubs and even switched out my golf cart.
Big Rock well worth the visit
Nice course. Was partnered with 3 terrific members who knew their way around. Overall round enjoyable but slow play detracted from overall round. Course supervisor was aware of delays but really didn’t seem interested in speeding anyone up.
