The highlight of this Karl Litton course is the three-story Southern plantation-style mansion that serves as the clubhouse. Devlin Von Hagge originally designed it.
The course has been voted as a Top 100 women-friendly course in the U.S.
The course is known for its excellent condition of the fast greens and contoured fairways. Palm trees add a tropical feel to this target-oriented course.

This property was sold. It is not taken care of at all. It is in deplorable condition. A round of golf here should cost $10 and that may be too much. They do not even water the course.. The greens. Can't even call that area greens. Play somewhere else.
greens need work
Played this course several times Nov 2018-Feb2019 and the course was in good condition. Now it appears that minimal work is being done to the greens. The sprinklers were on when we were on some greens! Not impressed with the way things were today. Staff were friendly. Depending on price I would have reservations about recommending as rates will be coming down in the area by May 01.
course hasn't been properly cared for and it s sad to see what use to be a beautiful course turn into such sad conditions/Hopefully will turn it around and bring it back to what use to be a great place to golf. One thing that hasn't changed is their employee's,wonderful staff
greens are terible, dosent look like anyone is even remotely trying to do some thing about it.
greens are really bad. too bad, because i like the course a lot. no one there, so sad..
Winter conditions
Good value. Front nine green still dormant back nine better.
Nice course, but quality of fairways and greens are in not good conditions . The course is very beautiful, but need help
Course needs help
Staff is great, facility is fine. Nice layout and nice new carts but the course conditions are bad. Greens all chopped up and super slow.
great layout but what about cutting the grens?
I really enjoyed this course BUT the "hairy" greens were a joke. Fairways were only fair also. I played here ten years ago when it was private and it was a great experience. My friends played here last month and said it was MUCH BETTER condition at that time. It was a nice day to play golf and we were disappointed since our scoring was not accurate because greens were so SLOW!!
Course should have been closed from Rains overnight.
was told cart path only was a little wet. Greens were flooded, water filled most holes. could not putt, a driver would still be short on the greens with all the rain.....
Played 5 holes and gave up.....
Too Bad
I love this course but the it is in real bad conditions actually, I hope it will be better in a few weeks. The greens are in recuperation mode right now and the course need time to recover.
Lots of water
Unfortunately this course is horrible and should be closed. It actually was closed a few months ago when they started ripping up the course to build either homes or apartments. As construction was going on it closed. The deal went south so they re-opened the course. This course is absolutely terrible. Greens have bald spots and bumps all over. Worst greens I have seen in south florida. Tee boxes are dirt. Fairways are in poor shape. Its a shame because 12-15 years ago this course was primo. I guess nothing is forever. Spend your money somewhere else. This course is a rip-off!!!
Save your money
This used to be one of the best courses in S. Fl. Unfortunately they have let it go and it is in horrible shape. The fairways and rough are bad, the sand traps are more like dirt traps but the worse was the greens. I have played very few courses with worse Greens. They did not appear to have been cut for a couple days and the was rot and holes over the whole green
Horrible
Played the course 2 years ag, since then Nothing was made on the course.
Not a golf course anymore. Sorry i have paid more than 1$ for this horribble expérience.
The first part of the comment by bap12053 is incorrect. The golf course has not been sold, but it is true that the managing owner Danny Avila has neglected the course. He does not seem to have any knowledge on how to run a golf course.
Margate residents are very upset and are actively fighting for the future of the golf course. If you want more information, please visit www.keepmargategreen.com
Thank you.
