Lakes at Walden Lake Golf & Country Club

While this course needs a lot of improvement, the greens were overseeded and they are keeping them watered. A good opportunity to get out and work on your game at a great value, especially this time of year when other local courses get expensive. Keep your expectations low, but get out and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather!

Bring a sense of humor...the putting greens are a joke!!!!
Weeds, areas of dirt(ie) no grass and more bumps than a carnival bumper car ride.

The first nine holes are in fair conditions but the back nine holes are destroyed, no grass in fairways and greens are a lot of wed and bad grass. The cart path is destroyed in the entire course; pro shop is closed. This course need immediately attention and maintenance because his deteriorating is evident.

So played there yesterday, completely a waste of money. I love Dennis at the shop, but as for everyone else and the course is a joke. The greens were being worked on couples months ago, now all of them are in bad shape. I play there to get practice like a driving range, because you won't get any putting done. What should really happen, is to close it down for a month until they can get it back to descent

What was once a top notch course is, again, in a state of disrepair. It is being maintained at a bare minimum level. The grass was not cut anywhere other than the greens. And most of the greens appear to be dying. They were overseeded this winter and should not have been due to the type of grass. Good chance the greens will be dirt soon. Weeds abound. Clearly the owners have no money to spend.

It's obvious the new administration it's doing a good job bringing the course back to its all glory. Staff is very friendly. I will go back.

I am glad this course is available. I hope they will keep the course maintained.

Course was in poor condition both on and off greens. Sand traps were dirt not sand. Yards of homes around course in much better shape than course. Lots of water on nice layout, but with bridge crossing that looked dangerous to cross. Much better courses currently available in the area.

I used to play this course alot years ago, I knew that it took a big hit when the economy did. So I kind of let things go for a while until I got this great price on Golfnow and ventured back to see how things were progressing. There were lots of changes to the facility, things relocated and one of the courses (the Hills) was closed. But I could tell things were making a turn for the better. I enjoyed the round because it was a week day and there was less traffic on the course and room enough to play solo and get to work extra on some shots. It was a beautiful day and I just had fun.

The greens Where in very good shape. The fair ways still need a little work but you tell they are doing a great job in getting the coarse back to what it used to be. Will be back soon

Course in poor condition ... fairways with little grass - and very hard. Not going back to play Walden again.

Greens were hit or miss in quality. Some were horrible. You get what you pay for here. Tees and fairways were pretty bad. Course layout is nice. Lots of OB due to homes. I was a single and joined a threesome of friendly regulars. I will probably go back if the price is right.

This course has vastly improved in last 6 months. You can really tell there is a new owner who cares in place. It is not a top course yet but what I have seen it could be back to its former glory. Course layout has been fun to play.

I played there for the every 1st time and love the layout and the staff. I Had a great time and will come back again...thank you mr. Lynn Archibald

New management is obviously making changes for the better. Still a work in progress but playable now

My first time at Walden but definitely won't be my last. The layout of the course is fantastic! I can see that improvements are being made around the course. The greens were perfectly acceptable. ..smooth and not slow at all. There should be rakes in the bunkers though. If you puto your tee shotshirt where they are supposed to be, you will have a great time. ..hit it crooked and it will not be any fun. The new Pro Greg is awesome and friendly...get out there asap!

We have played it in the past few years and really enjoyed it. But this time was totaly different The hills course was close for develoment and the lakes course where losing it's greens. New manegment is not putting money in the course it has. WILL NOT BE BACK.

Lived in the area for the past 10 years, and first time to this course. GREAT value for the winter months. Lay out is challenging, but not difficult for even high handicappers.
Greens were in great shape for the middle of January.
Looking forward to bringing out of town friends for a round.

Played this coarse last summer, it was overgrown, greens were rough, followed a group of 6 people, not my ideal round. Coarse was in much better condition this time, greens were good, rough was manicured. Followed a group of 4 and got done in 3:45. Cart paths will loosen some fillings in your teeth. Will play again.

My friend and I played the course for the first time in several months. I cannot believe the improvements that the new owner has made. The greens, fairways and yes even the bunkers are in excellent shape. We were so pleased that we asked to meet the new owner, not surprised, he was very personable and wanted to make sure that we were pleased with our round.
