Gatlinburg Golfcourse
Excellent fun course very challenging. Great pace of play. I’d play it everyday!
Challenging yet fun
Course was in good shape few greens with rough spots along the edges fun round pace of play was slow but kinda expected that with the nice weather staff friendly challenging yet fun course
Nice course
The course is in good shape for winter play. Friendly staff and good food available at the snack counter.
I enjoyed this course
Nicely kept for winter conditions. I’d love to come back in the summer. Friendly staff is always a great time.
Vacation golf
Staff was friendly. It’s CPO from December to March which we weren’t aware of. The course is very hilly and can be a challenge when it’s CPO. There are some unique holes. It was a challenge but we had a good time.
Gatlinburg As Expected- Great
The course was as expected. Really good conditions, considering all the cold weather in the area lately. The fairways were a nice fluffy, painted green in places. The greens were in good condition with exception of a few areas that were obviously still under a bit of repair, but not a big deal at all. They were overall in really good condition. The ball rolled well everywhere. there was basically no one there, 45° with a little bit of drizzle, but that allowed us to play at our own pace and finished in about three hours and 20 minutes with a 20 minute lunch break. And that was a little bit of an issue, the lunch break. They had a policy of no one allowed to eat lunch inside it had to be "to go". which I understand if piece of play is a big issue and people are getting jumbled up and getting behind. But "a break at the turn" is normal at every golf course! so with a total of six cars in the parking lot, including three employees at the course, that would probably make a maximum of four groups on the entire course! So when the restaurant attendant had to call the Pro Shop and ask permission for us to sit down and eat a hotdog, that was a little extreme. But, that was also what I expect at Gatlinburg. The rules up there are so black and white with zero exceptions that it becomes a little bit excessive at times. The control the exercise on the golf carts is over the top. I understand keeping people out of wet areas and that certain times we have 90° rule. I understand and abide by that. But they have notoriously been so bad with how they treat people at that course, often people won't return. And that's sad because the course is a really great golf course with tons of good amenities and a really nice clubhouse. Great technology on the golf carts with GPS, individual speakers Bluetooth. All the things you want. I'm not sure if it is a policy or Practice of the current owners or if they just allow the staff to be somewhat arrogant, but that has always been the issue there. Overall still a solid, four star experience, but with very little effort, mostly by staff interaction, they could've received a five star from me in the middle of winter on a cold rainy day! I STILL would recommend the course for anyone (except slow high handicappers who struggle with control). I would recommend a rangefinder with slope because of the amount of elevated greens and course undulation. The golf carts have GPS, but it does not give you slope and he can sometimes be 20 yards different of the hill.
I know it sounds negative, but that's just an honest review from me. I would still go back and play again tomorrow without question. i Need to get back there and play more during the green summer season.!
Great winter course.
It had rained for a couple days so we were worried that the course would be soggy and in bad shape. Fortunately, that was not the case. The course was perfect and greens were an amazing shape. Hats off to the crew at the course. An amazing day with friends!
Tough, but beautiful
Fairways are very narrow, especially on the back nine. Very fun and very challenging.
Beautiful views
This course is very tough, especially the back nine. The front nine is pretty wide open, but the back is very narrow. It was very busy on a Saturday, so pace was kind of slow. But the views were so worth it! Highly recommend!!
Great course festive location
The Gattlinburg golf course is a great course to play. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. And then there is the whole Gatherinburg, pigeon forge and Sevierville area that is like one big Christmas town. We get up there every chance we get.
