Lakes at Indian Creek Golf Course

About
Only two holes lack water on Indian Creek Golf Club's Lakes Course, designed by Dick Phelps three years after the Creek Course opened. No. 9 is the best hole, playing 453 yards with water coming into play off the tee and the approach. A pond protects the left bend of the dogleg and extends to the green. Bogey isn't bad on this difficult par 4.

Lakes Course
Lakes Course at Indian Creek is currently in good shape. The greens were very fast during my round! The layout is pretty straight forward, but make sure you are looking at the GPS for water. Some hazards can not be seen from the tee box. The course was packed with people, but the pace of play was fine. Finished in just over 4 hours. One of the great things about the courses at Indian Creek is that they are very walkable. They also have Finn Scooters if you are so inclined.
Fair & Fun Golf Cours
i have played both courses at Indian Creek numerous times and the Creeks course never has disappointed me. with manicured fairways and bunkers. True and severely undulated greens. this course is awesome. Great mix of long and short par 4/3's. # 12 par 3 can play over 200yards. a little pricey on weekends with $56 to walk but if you enjoy walking it could be seen as a value. I would Recommend.

Lakes Course at Indian Creek
Indian Creek reopened today with social distancing restrictions. Currently course is walking only, but it's an easy walk. Open fairways and lots of water make this a great track. The greens are possibly in the best shape I have seen at Indian Creek. Can not wait to play the Creeks course.
Great Course
WOW!! I was very surprised this course was just a gem in the city. The course was just in great shape.....the greens were nice and firm and rolled consistently. I would strongly suggest you play this course.
Good outing overall, great value for the $
For the price, an excellent value. The course was in good shape overall. Greens a little on the slow side, but rolled very true and got a bit faster after some drying out. It was a little wet and sloppy with the recent rains and we had to go 90 degree rule, but that's to be expected. Can't really think of anything to complain about, every staff member encountered was friendly and helpful. Had a good time and finished 18 holes in almost exactly 4 hours.
Nice course
I really enjoyed playing this course. It is a very challenging course and if you miss the fairway scoring well will be difficult. The course is in the flood plain and any good rain means standing water on parts of the course. The one bad thing I have to say about the course condition are all the ant hills. From any tee box, the fairways are littered with one foot tall ant hills scattered everywhere. A number of times I had to chip out of the trees back into the fairway and hit a random ant hill sending the ball careening from its intended line.
Nice course and layout. Pace of play not good
The greens were fantastic!
Great course!
I played the Lakes course. The facility is great and the green/fairways were in excellent shape. I was first out at 7am and had the course to myself. Beautiful course.
Good Course
While I like playing the Creeks course, the Lakes course offers a great course for a great value. If you are playing for the first time, be conservative and aim for the 150 stick. There is water or additional trees on a number of holes that you can't see from the tee box.
Fine course but tough if you don't know the course.
We golfed in September 2016. This is a municipal course so and it was quite damaged in some floods last year that shut it down for a while. Both 18 hole courses are now fully open! The course is in good shape. They are doing a pretty good job of keeping the fall weed under control. The greens were a bit slow but mostly in good shape. The biggest struggle was with determining the hole layouts since we hadn't played there in a couple years. There are NO pictures on diagrams of the hole at the tee box. There are NO pictures of the holes (even the little ones) on the score cards. There was no GPS. So I motored back to the starter stand to see about a booklet or ANY rendition of the holes. THEY HAD NOTHING! No way to determine the hole layout. I guess they thought we could just drive up the hole an look at it before hitting our drives. You can't do that of course... so you just have to hit and hope there is not a LAKE (we were playing the LAKES course) or bunker or any other unknown hazards. I'm sure once you play the course a few times the issue is moot, but come on. Oh yeah.. the online golf reservation system I used to book the tee time indicated that GPS would be included. It turns out that the did have GPS many years ago but the newer carts DON"T have them. That's my two cents.
Same old Indian Creek
The course was closed for most of 2015 but I saw little or no improvement on the Lakes side. Hole 16 needs to have some indicator as to where the water is on the tee shot.. Many holes need more turf around the greens. Most are elevated. It is difficult to get up and down from dirt. No beverage cart service on Labor Day with temp in the 90s.
AWESOME COURSE!
I will definitely be back!! Highly recommend this course!!
Fun track
First time back for me after the flood last year. Fairways and greens in good shape. Areas around cart paths and under trees between holes still need work.
Very challenging "target" golf from the white tees, you will need multiple clubs from the tee.
Pace was slow mostly due to a cart path only situation due to recent rain.
An empty course during a shower
Wife and I played 18 in 2:30. Sprinkle to shower the entire time. Course was pretty muddy when you got off the greens and fairways. Greens were fair to good, rolling about 7-8. Lakes course has tons of doglegs, driver is not needed on about 6 holes. Water in play everywhere, even on sightlines off the tee. GPS or course knowledge would have helped. Played for $50 (both) and that is a nice price for a course just getting back into shape from the 2014-2015 floods. 13 over thru 15 and birdied the last 3 holes. Go figure.
fun course
busy public course, played on a saturday morning. sent out as a single. played several holes quickly, then ran into a backup. quit at 9 when i saw several groups backed up on 10. would like to play again with a group or on a slower day.
Please play faster
For the middle of summer, course was in good condition. I've always liked the layout, but darn were the groups in front of me slow!! On a very hot day it took 2 hours and 40 minutes to play front 9. I quit at turn, I refuse to play over 5 hour round- just not enjoyable.
Indian Creek Lakes
Nice course, fast greens, definitely a return visit...
