Bear Creek Golf Club - East Course

About
Bear Creek Golf Club's East Course is considered a tad more difficult than the West, with tighter fairways and smaller greens. Fourteen of 18 holes dogleg, so its label as a target course is accurate. Elevation changes make club selection a challenge, and the par 5s are tough to reach in two. No. 5 stands out on the front: a 385-yarder that doglegs left and involves an approach over water. No. 8 is longer (418 yards) and features water in the fairway landing area and along the right side. On the back, no. 15 is the signature, playing 432 yards and tricky because of the blind approach shot.

Nice Layout Challenging Course
Played the East course and really liked the character of the course. Elevation changes, doglegs, undulating greens. The conditions were not great, lots of little star weeds on the greens and some tee boxes so hard couldn’t get a tee in. Overall I had a good round played just over 4 hours and only lost a few balls.
Bad Greens
I golfed at Bear Creek East today. The staff and carts were good. The practice green had been punched but not sanded so it was completely unusable. There were several bare patches on many of the greens and weeds so thick the ball couldn’t travel straight on several greens.
With the condition of the bare patches and weeds there was no consistency from green to green either. I realize this is early March and the green cannot be as good as later in the year but I am comparingw these greens to other I have played recently. Twin Creeks in Allen is considerably better.
I will not be back.
Concrete Bunkers
Course condition was very average even for this time of year. The bunkers were the absolute worst. I went in a few and they were all the same... literal concrete where your club just bounces. It doesnt take a lot to turn the sand and loosen it once a week.
Expensive for the condition
I have played a few courses in Dallas, and the greens were very bumpy and the bunkers were unplayable!! Concrete is softer than the bunkers. And for $85 was more than disappointing.
course is good..greens a little too fast
Weather was perfect. Course was winter like it always is in winter fairways were decent and true to form but greens on each hole were fast.
Very good course
Played in February after a few days of profuse rain. The course was in very good condition, the greens very well kept. We played in less than 4 hours, and the amenities were nice with decent food. Very good value for money, and it's open on Mondays!!!
Fastest round played in quit awhile
Teed off around noon midweek and we was done in 3.5 hrs. Course is in great conditions other than some spots on the fridge of greens were rough. Sand traps were soft and in excellent playing condition.
Back to Bear Creek
It's been a while since I played either course. I will not wait as long before I play here again. Keep up the good work.
always a good place to play
rare day I guess, but the pace was perfect, the pro shop staff is always awesome, carts and course in really good shape. This is what a golf outing was meant to be.
Bear Creek East
Course is in good condition and the greens are good. Rate of play was good.
Solid Winter Conditions
The course is in good shape for winter conditions. Greens are very fast for December.
