A relaxing 9-hole round
Had some free time and played their 9-hole Mountain course (despite the name, the course is not slopy) on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy and the pace was great - even playing leisurely, I finished the round in 2 hours and 15 minutes. The course was well maintained - no dead spots on the fairways or greens. The clubhouse staff was very nice. They have a driving range, with nice putting and chipping practice areas.
Good for beginners and great for practice swings.
Besides the very slow pace of play , in general it is very good golf course. Especially the agent in pro-shop and the stuff are very friendly and helpful.
Shoot’em straight
Course was fun. Wish the fairways were less bumpy, and the homeless were cleared out..
POP was a tad slow
Teeing off just after noon. Finished just past 5, so POP was not so good. Needs to be faster. Waited a lot.
Front 9 greens were bette than the back. Back 9 greens were a bit bumpy, and that’s not because of the later afternoon. It wasn’t as rolled as the front 9.
Tees and some fairways were painted green.
Course needs a bit more rough down the sides of fairways so that the ball doesn’t run off too far. But pretty much every course is set up like that these days, so it’s expected, but would be nice to have a bit more grass.
Prepare for off-roading in golf carts
Tried this course since it’s close by and what a mistake. For as busy as it was and for what they charge I would expect this place to be better maintained. Prepare to off-road in mainly dirt not grass in a golf cart at every hole from how badly maintained it is and their gofer problem is visibly out of control. This course is a good size and there are no signs to know which way to the next hole, so unless you’re very familiar with it you have to drive around or ask a fellow golfer wasting time. The only things maintained were the greens and the fully stocked bar with plenty of options. Definitely won’t be back, rather play Bella Verde’s 9-hole twice & pack my own drinks & snacks. This place could be such a gem if it was managed/maintained properly.
Course has Potential
Whittier Narrows has a very nice layout and can make for a very fun round. However, the course is poorly maintained, overgrown, too many dirt patches, and a slow pace of play. The greens weren’t bad and relatively quick. If you ignore these distractions you can have an a decent round of golf.
Fivesome Course
Let me see, where do i begin? Chipping , putting and practice area is not bad. Cafereria leaves much to be desired with hardly much to offer in terms of food. Been playing here often for the only reason is proximity to my home and that they allow 5 somes on the course which is very rare nowadays. Only positive thing about this course is the conditons of the greens, greens are in fabulous shape. But the fairways are totally messed up from literally thousands of gopher diggings and holes. If they can take care of that and let all the grass grow back, this would be a decent course
River/Pine/Mountain
3 separate , 9- course each , leading each group to begin at the first tee box smoothly at each 3 courses than just one backed up groups at the 1st teebox usually.. Each 9 course seems to define and express your depth of golf skill levels..
