Eagle Mountain Golf Club

About
Designed by Scott Miller, this course is located in the southeastern foothills of the McDowell Mountains and is an innovative departure from the “target” style courses constructed in the desert in the recent past. Its layout takes advantage of a variety of land features: rolling hills, ridgelines, lush valley and washes, with a backdrop of prominent mountain outcroppings. In many instances, long extended views into untouched desert landscapes and area landmarks, such as Camelback Mountain, will be afforded. It is a strategic design, which asks the player to make choices relative to skill level.

Great day at Eagle Mountain! Photo submitted by uOQDZ5699OQ on 09/26/2012
Of course I enjoyed my round since i had a hole in one on #8
Troon got greedy, Very poor conditions
I’ve played this course for many years and Troon should be ashamed of themselves. Like other reviews there are dead spots everywhere and several fairways are dirt. The bunkers have no sand. Greens were slow and very bumpy. If you’re in town on a golf vacation, play elsewhere. It’s not worth playing at any price point right not and especially not $250. Typical corporate money grab. Troon better get their show together or their courses are gonna be empty.

Thank you for your comments and want to apologize for your experience. I would like to discuss in more detail if you could call the course and ask for the GM.
Need to fix the fairways
I have played this course dozens of times and when visitors are in town this is one of the courses I take them too. The staff here is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Recently, the green fees have moved up dramatically and are generally in excess of $200 per round or more. What is not up to par is the condition of the fairways (especially the front 9). Tee boxes, traps, and greens were in great shape for the prices being charged. Not so much the fairways. Serious effort needed here.
Eagle Mountain has slipped. A lot.
Where to begin? Dead spots everywhere! Fairways, rough and even the greens. Definitely not up to ant Troon managed courses I have ever played. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Big time waste of money
VERY DISAPPOINTED. Course conditions were awful. I have played several municipal courses in the Phoenix area that were in far better shape for 1/3 the price on much better conditioned courses. Even the golf cart was awful with a broken windshield.

Do Not Play
This is the high season in the Phx area and the course is not in acceptable condition for the $200+ rate being charged. Fairways had minimal grass from over seeding, bare spots or soupy with water. Greens were fine. Played other courses in the valley and this was the worse.
Unfortunately because the layout is fun.
Garbage Conditions
Management should be embarrassed charging $200 for a course in this kind of shape reminding me a playing in the middle of summer in 115° heat pathetic condition.
More people need to stand up and speak out when they play a course in this kind of shape for that amount of money ridiculous.

Horrible course conditions for 200.00. Absolute garbage.
Management should be embarrassed to charge 200.00 for based on the condition of this course. I’m highly aware that it was a rough - reseed season. This golf course looked about as good as shape it would be in the middle of summer.
Slow play, just o.k. conditions
We played with another couple from the area and all felt that the course was not top condition. In addition, we had to wait for some time every hole, especially on the back nine. When we mentioned this to staff, they said that the back 9 can back up. Well, then, you are overbooking it. It was not a great experience, despite some nice vistas and hole chllaneges.
Always a great time
As always, Great course, friendly staff, course is in great condition
Congratulations...
