Great Eagle Golf Club

About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Good for price
Paid around 45$ for 18 holes. First time playing as the reviews scared me away. Course is fine. You will enjoy it. Nothing I haven’t seen at $100+ courses.
great deal
got afternoon pricing and enjoyed the course a lot. nice layout - pace was good. just some rough areas around the greens and the bunkers could use a make over - but overall well worth the money.
Good course
Course was a good play. Challenging around the greens. Fairways in excellent condition as were the greens. I would play it again. I was a little concerned reading past reviews but all worked out ok.
Two 9's
The front nine seems to have grass/rough bunkers and mounds surrouding the greens. The greens are not in the greatest condition.
The back nine greens are much better condition, but many of them have severe slopes that are quite a challenge. Also, not as many of those grass bunkers/mounds around the greens.
No beverage cart. Starter and cart guys were not very friendly. Probably just putting in their time so they can golf for free.
Carts are electric, but OLD. No charger plugins. Cart paths will shake you out of your seat in places. Some new concrete paths in other places.
Course around a mobile home park.
Fair condition of greens. Fairways are fine. Not much trouble to find. Tight around homes.
the course has an interesting layout
We enjoy playing there. normally the play is on time.
Fun course……contrary to other reviews I read the people there from the pro shop to the cart guy to the starter were all great! Played with a local couple that were nice and we had a great time. I will definitely play again!
Highway robbery
This is a 25$ a round course. We paid 54$ each for 9. First tee time of the day.
I love a poorly maintained course for bringing kids , or when you're working on something specific, but to charge (70-105$) a round and to have the course be borderline unplayable with a clubhouse stuck in 1982 is laughable.
Over Priced Dog Track
I try to give every course I play the benefit of the doubt, this course I can't come up with a single positive note. Its over priced, the pace of play was horrendous, we were constantly waiting for the group in front of us and it took 4 hours 50 minutes to play. It seems the course architect dropped the course into the middle of an RV park with no thought whatsoever which give the course NO curb appeal or is it pleasing to the eye. Hate to say it but I will never play this course again.
Poor manicure
Both front and back nines differed tremendously,
One being very very dry with little or no grass to hit from, while the back nine had much better conditions. Poor manucure for what seemed to be a semi-private course.
For some reason the driving range area is in the middle of the 9 th hole and the 10th hole fairways. Most all of the driving range balls where in the fairways making it very difficult to find our own balls.
I would think that paying over $125.00 american for an afternoon game you would get a lot more for you coin.
Disappointed
Manicure
Although the layout is very nice, the front nine is extremely dry compared to the back nine.
Its almost as though they have 2 different superintendents for each side.
Grounds keeping on the front is shall I say, bad.
The back 9 is lush and manicured.
Greens all around where quite true but elevated on each of the holes with no chance of a roll on as the swales are quite deep. Also no way of getting our ball to stick on any of the greens. Lastly, way too many 2somes tee it up making it difficult for foursomes of average play to not feel the push. You can only let so many 2somes play through.
Happy golf😩
Worst course I’ve ever played
Extremely rude service from cart services. They seemed angry that I was even there to get a cart as if I was an inconvenience and when I returned the cart he made multiple rude comments about how long it took us. We played 18 holes in under 3 hours and returned the cart well before it was dark and not even the last one in. I don’t know if he has anger management issues or what but I was a bit blindsided by his hostility. I thought he was joking at first. Every aspect of the course was horrible. From bumpy greens to wet mud balls around the greens, pin placements on massive slopes, trees directly in front of a tee boxes making it unplayable. I’ve played golf for 25 years and this is by far the worst course I’ve ever seen. Goes without saying, I will never be going back and I will be telling anyone and everyone about how much of a joke this course is.

The grill didn't open until 11 so no breakfast or hot dog at the turn. The ranger was grumpy when telling us the rules for not driving the carts in the rough, but to drive them in the fairway instead.
Decent fairways...
Greens are bumpy & are hard to putt on. You rarely get a true roll. They do not have any grass on the fringes of the greens. The rough is very dried out & in some cases just dirt.
Layout is quite decent especially if they would have better grass conditions.
We won't be back. Would rather play Arizona Traditions. The sister course to Great Eagle
