The North Course is one of two courses at Granite Falls Golf Club, the other naturally being the South Course. The North Course was built on a rolling, hilly terrain with stately trees and abundant shrubbery. Although the fairways are quite generous, they are undulating and surrounded by sand traps. There is also extensive mounding and bunkering, both grass and sand, to provide more challenge. Water hazards come into play on 10 holes. Many holes have beautiful mountain backdrops, creating a scenic environment for the game. The course has four sets of tees, making it accessible to all skill levels. Granite Falls Golf Club, in addition to the two golf courses, also features a grass driving range with target areas, two putting greens, and a short game area with a practice bunker.

The course overall is one of the best kept in the West Valley. The greens are in terrific shape and consistent. The fairways and rough are quite lush for Phoenix area summer conditions. The fairways were not mowed and a bit shaggy for my taste. For $90 it is a decent value for the money but at this price point they should have gps on the carts and a beverage cart. Given how burnt out a lot of local courses are my kudos to their staff for keeping it nice and green. Beers for only $2.25 at the turn… excellent value.

Driving personal carts up to the green.

Overall the course is in good shape. The greens have been cut low and slice cut for aeration. This will heal in a few more days, but for today it did effect the putting. The greens were a bit fast and would not hold the line well. They will be fine in a few days, so no big deal. While playing I ran into a group in an orange nearly red cart who would drive up to the greens. They did not have a handicap flag on the cart, so they had no reason to do this. They also did not let me play through as a single when they played slow and terrible. Looked right at me and just went ahead anyway. If you know you are slow, there is no reason not to let someone who easily caught up to you to go through. Since they drove up to the greens I have to assume you do not have any golf etiquette anyway. It is very hot out and I did not want to wait on these people so I skipped a hole and went around them. There was no ranger on the course to report them to. (for driving up to the greens, not slow play) Guys like this need to be kicked off and not allowed back on. I don't care that you are a resident of the golf community. You are ruining the course for others.

The course was well maintained, the everyone on the course held great pace. The greens where very fast and difficult, much of the grass around the greens where high.

Great day

The fairways are nice and full, no bare or burnt spots. The fairways and aprons are a bit soft, but for summer that is great. These are not hard pan fairways. I hate playing on hard pan. The rough however, is a slightly thick. Your ball will stop dead if it touches it at all. The aprons are the same way. If you chip a shot up and it hits the apron it will stop or barely trickle on. The greens are firm as in I didn't leave a ball mark when hitting the green. Putting was oddly slow. I am not sure if that was because the greens were a bit fuzzy or if it is just that type of grass. I don't know. I do know that the greens are greatly improved from a couple years ago when they had some type of mold or fungus as much as grass. All that mold is gone now. I was playing along at a nice clip when I ran into a group of 3 on the 10th tee who let me play through. God bless you guys. You really helped me keep a great round going. Thanks. Much appreciated.

Hot day

The course is in good shape for summer. The fairways were in good condition. They seemed a bit soft and the ball would not roll out much. The aprons around the green would stop the ball dead and leave a deep muddy ball mark. The putting surface was a bit firm. Seems the ball would roll to the sides or back. Putting was interesting. You had to hit the ball firmly as the ball would turn right as it got to the hole. Might be people stepping next to the hole or it was mounded when they made the hole. Biggest issue for me was the Boomers in front of me. Saw them in the pro shop bragging about how the group ahead of them was only 30 minutes ahead and that they would catch them because they played so fast. I was 45 minutes behind them and caught them on the 4th hole. They wouldn't let me through until the 14th hole when they stopped at the restroom. Even though no one was ahead of them and they looked at me at every hole, they would not allow me to play through. This is not the courses fault. just an observation of some of the people here.

Still Great

Haven’t played here in 5 years since they got too proud after Covid but glad they came down. Course was in good condition and like others have said greens were hard and fast but, I like fast greens so I all is good. Snack bar closes at 2pm and no cart person but all was good.

Very hard greens

The course was in good shape. The only problem I had was the greens very very hard. You couldn’t leave a ball mark. Also you can’t stop the ball on the greens. Was landing the ball 20 to 25 feet short of the pin and it would release at least 45 feet.
