Long Point at Amelia Island Club

About
Long Point at Amelia Island Club features a unique landscape that provides golfers with the opportunity to play through salt marshes, centuries-old oaks and pines, and oceanfront dunes. Designed by Tom Fazio, the golf course is known for its natural waste bunkers, large undulating greens, and the distinctive back-to-front par 3s that face the Atlantic.
There are also rolling fairways and 15 water hazards throughout the golf course. Although it is a demanding test, players are rewarded with a beautiful landscape and scenic views of the Ocean and the Amelia River.

Hard but Fair Test
Long Point is extremely well maintained and when the wind blows it can be really hard. The greens are hard and fast. This may not be one of Tom Fazio's best efforts, but given the desire or need to squeeze holes in on the ocean side of the street it is well designed. There is good variety of hole directions and the doglegs are not all in the same direction. The greens tend to be elevated and not too big (especially on the par fives). The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the facilities are what one would expect from a private club. The best course in the county.
Best Course on Amelia Island
Long Point is certainly the best golf course on Amelia and is what I consider to be my 2nd home course. While the golf course has fantastic conditions, there are a few members that didn’t like having me and another player walking the course. However, besides that, I have always enjoyed practicing and playing at LP. The front 9 has some good views and is much easier to walk. However, the back 9 has 2 oceanside par 3s, which are always a treat. Even though the back 9 is tougher to walk, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17 are all fantastic golf holes and I always get excited thinking about playing them. I also think the 12th tee box is my favorite spot on Amelia Island. While it’s a bit pricey, it’s tough to beat anywhere in north Florida.
If You Can Play This Course, Pony Up the Money and Play It!
I would recommend to anyone staying at AIP or the Ritz and wants to golf; pony up the money and play this course. The conditions are amazing and the greens are lightning. Likely the fastest I've played in Florida. Some of the holes are designed a little goofy, but the views are spectacular. 2 oceanfront holes that may be short and quirky, but the views are awesome. So, fork over the $180 and play this track at least once! The director of golf is a great guy too as is the folks behind the bar.

This is super random, but I'm trying to remember if this is a course I played about 12 years ago. Does this course happen to have blackberry bushes all over the place that you can just pick off berries and eat while you play?
