Mike Dasher's Highlands Reserve (opened 1998) is suggestive and irresistible. The course sits on the edge of a long sand shelf called the Green Swamp Ridge near the town of Davenport, spanning 120 feet from top to bottom. Dasher's holes fairly dance around it, two-stepping from a high point at the first green all the way to the low basin of the 13th fairway.

You will find pine tree-lined fairways reminiscent of the Carolinas, open spacious fairways likened to the great Scottish courses, and a bit of old Florida with citrus trees along the countryside.

Played as a single mid day. Local members were awesome and let me play through on multiple holes. Finished a round in three hours. Greens are in great shape. Fairways were decent but definitely not lush.

Great for snowbirds

Wide open fairways for someone hasn’t been on the links since back last summer. Elevation changes add enough challenge versus being narrow when out of practice. 2 thumbs up.

Staff is Excellent

I am staying around the corner from Highland Reserve which is a bonus. Regardless I so enjoy playing this course. It has some great elevation changes and for it being winter time it’s in great shape.
The staff are all great but particularly the staff that meets you at the end of the round. They are friendly and enthusiastic and obviously love their job. You leave with a smile on your face. I highly recommend this course.

Unexpected golf outing...

In Florida for a quick trip and was able to play as a single with the others. Great staff and course. Rented clubs as I want expecting to be able to golf on my trip. From the pro shop staff, starter, ranger and golf pro, all very friendly and enjoyable. You could tell it had been a bit dry in the area for a while, but course was still in great shape and greens were excellent. Will definitely play again and recommend to friends.
