Oak Creek Golf Club

About
Oak Creek Golf Course in Irvine boasts a course designed by Tom Fazio, who has been hailed as the best modern-day course architect. The layout features tapered fairways and multi-tiered greens that roll perfectly. Several sparkling lakes dot the lush greens landscape as well as a few mature eucalyptus trees, though the course is mostly open. The bulk of the challenges of this golf course are comprised of the bull-nosed carved bunkers that are strategically placed throughout. Vivid vegetation accentuates the course and the city gets more than 300 days of sunshine a year, providing the perfect setting for a round. Oak Creek Golf Course is also popular for its practice facility, which includes 65 natural turf tees, a nine-acre all-terrain landing area, two putting greens, and a large practice bunker. It is one of the most popular practice facilities in southern California.

great layout
grew up playing this course. brings back great memories being back
Greens in bad shape
Staff super friendly and enjoyed the layout but the greens are not good. Not only are the greens in bad shape but also punched. No indications during reservations or check-in that the greens were punched. I think this should be disclosed so we the consumer can make an informed decision.
Pace of play major issue
I have played here a decent number of times. Pace of play has been an ongoing issue and it doesn’t seem like they’re doing much about it. You can have all the signs and notifications on the monitors you are ant but if they don’t get a Marshall out here they are going to lose members and players. I quit after 12 holes today because the pace of play was so atrocious. Not cool considering $150+ a round.
Challenging
My handicap is an 18. I shot an 89, even with the greens being punched. Had an amazing round with back to back birdies on the back 9. Holes 16 and 17.
I had 4 three putts.
Course is well maintained and well worth it!!
Lots of construction going on...
Course condition is generally in fine shape, standard for this track, but they are performing major construction on the cart paths and tree lines. Course is cart path only right now, forcing a lot of long walk. Then when factoring the construction, it’s a strange experience traversing the course.
Very hard winter
Cart paths torn up. Course is weedy. Needs a lot of work to come back after the rains.
They need to fix the cart paths
Played with respectful Korean gentleman and good pace at 2 PM start. No starter. A little relaxed for usually expensive course. Course would be great if not so over priced.
Disappointed
First time playing this course. Staff were friendly and pace of play was good. However fairways were dried out and in ok condition. But for $135 ($180 on weekends) we expected a better conditioned course. Plus they were doing major repairs to cart paths with occasional jackhammer pounding. I wouldn’t recommend this course to others.
Good time
If you can get a price deal then this course is definitely worth it. The major drawback is the price but surprisingly pace was good that day compared to other reviews. Greens were rolling pretty well.
Really enjoyed the round at Oak Creek. Played with a guy who won the grammy for writing the SONG "I Will Remember You." He told many stories. I told him the benefits of joining GOLFPLUS PASS. You may get a new member soon. His name is Dave Merenda. Nice guy.
Oak Creek
Great course. Very challenging. A little slow due to a tournament playing in front of us
Very nice course
Really nice course, extremely friendly staff. Pace of play of the groups in front wasn’t very good, Realize it was a tournament but even then it shouldn’t take 2 hrs 30 min for the first nine holes.
Great people
The course was in great shape, the fairways are fast and the greens were so smooth., the putts just rolled with no bouncing. The staff treated me like I owned the place and I will certainly play there again.
Oak Creek
Great course conditions and practice facility. Always a bit pricey but overall great staff and course.
