Good test
Course is challenging. Many well placed traps, numerous water hazards and tree lined fairways. It lived up to it's 139 slope rating for the Rattlesnake tees which are just over 6000 yds. Greens recently dressed with sand, but rolled very well. Good speed also.
Vacation Golf
This was second time playing this course.
We chose it because of the price. Club was busy that day so we were paired with another couple from Canada who were so friendly and pretty good golfers! We had to wait at times for the foursome ahead of us but overall we played within the time limit. Enjoyed this course.
good deal for the price
greens, tees and fairways are in good shape - good deal for the price
Worth the trip, if the course is quiet!
So, the course has obviously benefited from some money that has been well spent. The course has been upgraded in my opinion and is a very interesting layout with plenty of challenges whatever tees you play from which is a great advantage. When we played the course was in good condition with very good greens and fairly lush fairways. Practice facilities for your pre round warm up are good as is the putting green. The staff, both professional and bar, are excellent and courteous. The clubhouse is not of the palatial type as per Barefoot but is welcoming and friendly. BUT, as usual the course suffers from the curse of Myrtle Beach Golf, SLOW PLAY😡😡
It should not be taking 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes of golf and ‘replays’ should not be interfering with 18 holers!
On the day we played on the front 9 , our back nine, there were 3 four balls and one 3 ball waiting to play a par 5!
It was so bad we drove in from there curtailing our round to 14 holes😡. This course does seem to suffer from large group bookings from MB hotels etc. If your not part of a large group with pre booked times I would suggest phoning for the best time to play and have a better playing experience. If you can do that you will have an enjoyable round of 4nrs!
Enjoyable Layout
I have played her several times. I will continue to book tee times here when I am in town.
Worth the trip fromMB South,
The round was cursed by the slow play which is sadly preeminent in Myrtle Beach😡. Course etiquette is non existent which is another feature of American golf😡. I don’t think most vacationers have any knowledge of ‘call through’ or any idea of how to play at a reasonable pace. Letting faster groups through can save them 30-40 minutes on their round! Yes we are on vacation but it should never be acceptable to take 5 hours+ to play a round of golf in a buggy…EVER,!! Players need to be aware,of all players not just their group!
That said the course was in great condition and the greens were also good👍. No fault with staff and I had a Frank exchange about the above with the Pro!!!!!! Depending on where you are staying on the Beach the course is well worth a visit.4 Stars if it wasn’t for the curse of slow play!
Hidden gem
Amazing the improvements that have been made. Worth the trip out to Loris SC
