Aliante Golf Course
About
Gary Panks designed Aliante Golf Club to be player friendly rather than score crushing. It is supposed to be a Las Vegas golf version of Cheers.
Everyone may not know your name, but there is a huge practice facility, good clubhouse digs to kick back in and most of all a 7,022-yard layout that does not play nearly as fearsome as its 139-slope rating would indicate.
Which doesn't mean there isn't plenty of variety. With 54 bunkers, 14 bridges, four ponds and two waterfalls, about all Aliante is missing is a kitchen sink on a par 5.
"Aliante is a little out of the way, but it was well worth the trip," Todd Dewey wrote in TravelGolf.com. "It was a bit surreal to be playing in a picturesque setting in that part of town and the fast pace of play made it even more enjoyable. There was absolutely no waiting."

Course was well laced out and reasonably priced
Starter was very friendly and helpful…….even though it was busy he let my wife and myself play alone………the only problem with the course was that two groups in front of us were playing from the yellows (approx 6500 yards) and were always looking for their balls,……….I am not a long ball hitter ie approx 250 yards on a good hit and I would have to wait for these groups to hit two times before I could hit,,,,,,,,,,unfortunately their is no one on the course to tell people about the pace of play
Nat as good as before
Course was on ok shape. Fairway were brown and dry. Group in front has 3 we had 2 would not let us gi ahead until the 10 th.
Good Value
The restaurant was outstanding! Great food and service.
Unfortunately, with water restrictions, the fairways were almost dead. I would recommend playing with a colored ball to make it easier to find. I would play here again.
Early spring golf
We golfed Aliante on a Sunday in early April. Got paired with a super nice couple and enjoyed our round with them. The layout was good but due to no watering the grass was still dead in the Fairways so it was so dry it was like hitting off pavement most times. Views were nice. Would recommend playing this course when Fairways are green and softer.
Course condition surprise
When we arrived at the course we were surprised to know the back 9 was closed for plugging the greens. The front 9 greens were well sanded so putting was a challenge. Had I have known this was going on I would ;not have booked it.
Course was not in good shape when we played.
Our group has played this course about 6 times. The day we played was not a good day. The back nine was closed for plugging of the greens and the front had a lot of sand from early plugging.. When I booked this course I do not recall any maintenance being performed on this date. Had I have known I would not have booked it
GolfNow let us down big time!
We arrived and the course only had 9 holes open due to maintenance. Golf Now had no information about this after being formed from the course about this situation. The course was unplayable and we couldn’t get a refund. People call the course you’re playing and check the condition 24 hrs prior to playing. Golf Now has been really good to us but this was a waste of $300 bucks. This was all on Golf Now! We played 3 holes and quit.
Aliante Golf Course
We showed up to our round and learned two --the back nine was closed and for our 18 holes we could play the front 9 twice. 2nd thing--the greens had been punched and sanded on the front nine. We got no notification of these 2 things before our round from Golfnow who had our contact info. The fairways had no green grass---all burnt out. The only green grass we saw was on the greens but that was even covered with sand from the green aeration. This was not what I paid for. Golfnow should return our green fees and their fees.
On a positive note the staff were courteous and friendly and offered to change our day of play for no charge. However our schedule did not allow for this.
Good for the price paid on Golfnow.
Course is about a 1/2 hour north of downtown Las Vegas right across the street from the Aliante casino. Our teetime was 10:55 and we arrived at the casino at 9:00 and had a great breakfast at the casino and got to the golf course at 10:00 planning to hit the range and putting green before the round. The guy at the cart pickup area put our bags on the cart that had our name and teetime on it. He then informed us the range and front nine were closed for maintenance and we would be playing the back nine twice. He then told us we would be first after the Tuesday ladies club all teed off (great). The putting green was open but was useless because of being punched and sanded. Two guys showed up and were added to our twosome, thats what happens with a 2some on Golfnow, we both play to a 10 handicap, one guy shot maybe 95 not counting do overs and mulligans the other guy shot probably 125 and gave up on half of the holes, again that's what you get when you golf out of town. The course itself is totally dormant both fairways and rough. There actually is no rough so if you don't hit perfectly down the middle your ball will roll forever and end up in deep rocky channels. My drive is normally about 225 but was rolling out maybe 50-60 extra yards. The sand in the traps was thin and full of small rocks and pebbles and will damage your wedge, I suggest bringing on older one that you don't care about and save your gamer. The greens had not been punched yet and rolled true and fast. After I adjusted to the speed I actually putted well so compliments on the greens. We actually teed off 10 minutes early at 1045 after the ladies got on the course. I guess they live in the community there, most had their own cart and played so fast that we never caught up to them, great job ladies, sorry for the earlier comment. The staff at the cart area was friendly, the guy at the desk in the pro shop said "Oh you are the Golfnow guys, you are prepaid go see the cart guy" Not mean or rude, just a little attitude us cheap hotdeal guys get at different courses, no big deal, we are used to it. If I didn't get a hotdeal I would not play this course until the turf grows back, maybe by the end of May. I have played it before when it was greened up and it is a fun course that you can shoot a good score on. Just don't play here from late October thru Mid May during the dormant season.
Course is not designed to have no rough
Overall the course was in good shape for the winter and greens were smooth and pretty speedy.
What bothers me is that when all the grass is dormant and there is no rough, there are too many slopes on the fairways that take your ball into the rocks adjacent to fairway even with a good shot.
If they can’t have rough due to water restrictions then they need to soften the fairway slopes inward rather than out.
It gets old to keep hitting decent shot and find it rolled off the side of fairway into creek bed. I must have hit 5 decent tee balls that I never expected to be out of play and they were.
A lot of good things to the course but this is worth mentioning just so you bring more balls and are aware of this happening.
