Siena Golf Course

We are out-of-towners and chose this course for my son's 30 birthday, what a mistake that was. Siena scheduled a super seiner golf tournament that morning and they were averaging 6 hours per team. We had an 11:09 tee time and did not tee off until 11:50 and had to follow the tournament for the first 9 holes. We were only allowed to play 11 holes in 4.5 hours before we had to leave due to other birthday obligations. When it came up to the ranger 3 times he was really sorry but that was it (nothing that guy could do apparently). We asked for a refund because we barely got any golf in and the answer was an astounding no.

The greens were an absolute mess. They have some type of weed growing on them so staff is cutting out huge chunks of the green and replacing it. Apparently, staff can't keep up though because several greens had huge spots with no grass at all. I have brought my clubs and golf on every vacation over the last 7 years. This is the first time it was a huge disappointment. Never have I ever seen or heard about a course operating in this manner. Again they were really sorry but were not willing to do anything about it financially.

There was absolutely no possible way that we were going to be able to get 18 holes in that day and they charged us over $300 and didn’t care whatsoever. If I did that in my business I wouldn’t have any clients left. But hey I’m sure it wasn’t their fault once they have your money what do they care?

2.5 hours for nine holes, teed off 20 minutes late. Course is beat up and in pretty rough shape. Most bunkers were cement and waterlogged. Overall not impressed and dissatisfied. Will not be making another trip to this course.

Six hour rounds, needless to say we didn’t finish.

It’s a nice cours. Fairways need some work but oversell a very nice god layout

Arrived from out of town for a friends birthday. Course was in horrible condition, tee boxes had over grown grass, greens had hundreds of divets on each one and were really wet. The bunkers were either concrete hard or had standing water in them. Pace of play was slow, took almost 6 hrs to finish the round. Wont return and they should be embarrassed to charge 150 for that course.

Greens had many fungus/dry spots scattered across almost every green. Fairways were okay but there were some muddy/wet spots too. Rough isn’t great. Overall this course just seems very public and almost municipal. I’m sure the course has its great moment but I wasn’t impressed but I wasn’t expecting much either. The range was closed on Monday when the round included free range. I may be back but in no hurry with the other options out there.

Greens were terrible. Looked like unrepaired divots. Other spots were 4” diameter sized brown spots on the green!

No Marshall seen for pace of play correction. Multiple groups hitting multiple balls, taking videos and pictures of their shots.

Very disappointed

This was the first time I’ve played Siena Golf Club. They indicated they had significant rain the week before I played the course. They said some bunkers could be unplayable but we really didn’t experience any issues with the bunkers.

There are not many good aspects to this course except for the beauty of the course. Many holes are stunning. It is located on the western outskirts of Las Vegas, situated against the mountains as your backdrop on many holes. The holes that stood out were: 4, 6, 8, 11, 12, 15, 16 & 17. The starter was very pleasant.

Here were the issues with the course:

Overall, it was not in good shape. The greens were very bumpy. Many greens had numerous small pockmarks. Hole 10 was the worst. The greens on holes 11 & 15 had this issue too.

The fairways have many brown spots. Very inconsistent looking grass. Some of the fairways were aerated.

Some of the bunkers were lacking enough sand. Also, some had grass growing in them.

We were charged over $190 for the round, with a $50 each way credit Uber drive credit. We asked other players that day what they paid for their green fees. They told us it was in the $80 range. Yes, the Uber credit is nice but my foursome paid $760 less $100 Uber credit ($660) vs. another group $240.

Pace of play was not good. No marshal on the course to monitor this. Well, over a 5-hour round.

On the course, there were individuals seeking donations on several of the par 3’s. I just prefer that a course does not do this. The lady on hole 7, I had no idea if she worked for St. Jude’s or this was a scam. The clubhouse should tell you about this when you pay for your green fees.

With such a pretty course, the finishing hole is an uphill tee shot. Not what I was expecting. After your tee shot, the hole looks good.

On nearly every tee box, the grass looks like crab grass. It may be an actual drought resistant grass but the grass does not match the grass on the course.

I would not recommend this course at the $190 we paid. It just was not in good shape. This course would easily get a top rating if it was in good shape. Very disappointing.

I usually have a great time at Siena, but this time the 18 holes took 5 hours and 15 minutes.

WORST pace of play ever, on hole seven, on pace for a 6 1/2 hour round, course is in awful condition, bunkers are terrible, greens are terrible, fairways are awful, and the tea boxes are filled with weeds, awful don't go

I was in town visiting a friend. We decided to hit up sienna for a round. If I were a resident, I’d be a member, let’s just put it like that!

For your money you can’t beat this course. It has more sand traps than your average course that will keep you focused. The food and drink choices are excellent and the atmosphere temps most courses in Vegas.

Had a great last minute rate. Staff was very accommodating. Fairways were pretty nice greens slower than they looked. Bunkers wastelands enter at your own risk, overall fun. I personally would not pay $100 which is what the course asks i believe. Well worth the golfnow deal however.
