Brooksville Country Club

About
Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

Disappointing
Played there February 14. Course was in good condition, but two months later, terrible. Fairways were dried out, greens has little to no grass, bumpy, not puttable.
Would not return there until conditions improve a lot!
Rough Shape
Overall the course is in rough shape. Some of the fairways and roughs are pretty good, but a lot of them have some dirt/weed patches. They are working on it, but a couple of the holes had sprinklers running while we were playing at noon. Almost every single green was absolutely atrocious, huge sand spots on some greens, but the majority of them had little sand patches here and there, very bumpy, impossible to read or hit good putts.
Fun course
Like the course. A little long for us old fellas, but, they all are anymore. Fairways were in pretty bad shape and the greens were lightening. Of course, love the "quarry" holes.
Terrible course
Would pay 5 dollars for this course let alone 50. Staff was rude pace of play was terrible and the courses condition was absolutely awful. Greens are in terrible shape, rough and fairways are also terrible. Left after the 6th hole. Can’t believe they can charge people this.
A Country Club (only based on the location)
Brooksville Country Club is a public course that was is poor conditions. The fairways needed grass and several greens were in horrific condition. I will probably wait until raining season to try Brooksville CC again.
Bad day
The golf course was in the worst shape I’ve ever seen it. Fairways were lacking grass. The rough was not good. The greens were like putting in the parking lot. The golf course has a lot of potential. Just wish they would put the money in it when the snowbirds are not here like they do before they come those of us who play here year-round support the golf course year-round, but have to pay the inflated prices when the snowbirds are here and then pay outrageous amount of money to play a golf course for not fit to be putt putt course
Needs maintenance all around.
Needs tender love and care. Course is in poor condition, fairways and greens. Even simple things, straighten out pavers all around, paint tee box markers, fix pot holes all around. Pay attention, your rates have increased, do some cleaning up. Will wait awhile before coming back. Traveled 1 hour to play here. Disappointed
Needs some help
I've played this course many times over the last several years. This was the worst I've ever seen it. Every green was dyed out and bumpy. You can't charge much if course is like a cow pasture.
Course needs work
OI play this course a half dozen times every year…The greens now are as bad as I’ve ever seen on this course…layout great; a challenge…but everything in need of TLC
BC 4 6 25
I have played this course many times. But not in almost two years, until today. Soooooooooo disappointed!!! Worst condition I have ever seen it in! Rough hasn't been mowed in at least two weeks. Greens were terrible, especially on the front nine with a lot of sand and VERY sparse grass. Back nine greens were only a little better. Not worth an hour and a half drive this time to play. And to top that off, we waited on every shot on every hole. Over 5 hours to play. Sorry guys, I really like the layout, which is why I came. But can't recommend due to condition.
greens were very bad
two weeks ago was much better, now wont go back for months before i try it again.
Course was in horrific condition. Greens were atrocious. Pace of play on back nine was ridiculous. Twenty minutes on 12 waiting to tee off
Not much better the rest of the way.
Burnt Greens
This has always been a fun course.Especially the quarry holes. However, it seems that a lot of the greens, are either burned out or infected with some kind of virus. Hopefully, they can fix the greens and get a little more grass in the fairways. It is a fun course to play
Brooksville County Club
We used to play Brooksville County Club every week for years and it was in pristine conditions from tee to green on all golf holes. We stopped playing the club 2 years ago because we wanted to play other clubs in Florida. So after 2 years away we decided to play Brooksville but much to our surprise the course looked like a completely different course! The tee boxes and fairways were in distress full of weeds and many bare spots. At least half of the greens were heavily damaged by fungus and other issues. The layout is spectacular but the the course conditions were extremely disturbing almost like it was done on purpose, what a shame!
