Leven Links Golf Course

About
Golf has been played at Leven Links Golf Course since 1846, making it one of the oldest clubs in the world. It has a unique landscape of parallel dune ridges that provides the ideal setting for links golf. The slopes and undulations of the terrain are used throughout the golf course, including the fairways that were molded from the valleys created by the dunes. The prevailing winds that blow through the course are often another challenging factor that is added to the game. The first four holes, all par 4s, play long but as the holes continue they become more up-and-down. The golf course opens with a tricky hole where the green sits on a ridge plateau and it finishes with what some have boasted is one of the best finishing holes in the country. It is another difficult par 4 with a burn stretching across the front of the green.

Leven Links
Thoroughly enjoyable round with decent off season rate.
Greens were great, temp forward tees but not a big issue, those are due to be finished circa 9-Mar.
Excellent layout, and par 3s. Will go back and would recommend.
Friendly staff and members.
Amazing
Great value for money and the course was in amazing condition
Affordable True Links Golf
Winter tees and mats but greens in great condition. Great value for money on a superb links golf course.
Great Course
Lovely course very challenging when the winds are high, a true links course.
Amazing hospitality & course for a large group booking
Leven Links and Leven Golfing Society hosted a large group booking for a corporate golf outing that I organised. Given the outing was the same weekend as the women’s open at St Andrews, we were pleasantly surprised they were able to accommodate us.
The course played amazingly in tough conditions. The greens were fast given the rain that has fallen recently, the fairways are in excellent condition, and the rough is testing, but fairly easy to find balls in when they stray off the undulating fairways.
All of the players in our outing only had good things to say about the course layout. It provided plenty of risk / reward opportunities and also holes that test your golf IQ.
Leven Golfing Society were excellent hosts, the catering team were excellent at preparing everything and providing quick service when everyone finished their rounds.
Leven Links sometimes gets overlooked in a landscape of amazing courses along the coastline in Fife. It does unfortunately lack a warm up range like some other courses are able to offer, but this definitely should not put you off as the course provides a great challenge for all golfers for an extremely competitive price!

Exzellent curse Extreme friendly stuff
Excellent curse good weather for us Very good condition
Local Knowledge
Played on a sunny , warm day with only a 1 to 2 club wind , so certainly can’t blame the conditions for our poor scoring. Greens were in excellent condition, but fairways were bumpy and inconsistent with decent grass. Course had a number of blind shots, which is typical of Scottish golf, so a bit of local knowledge would have helped as it seemed like every poor shot I hit had excessive repercussions. I’m over 70 and not as long as I used to be , and I wish courses in Scotland would have a tee level for seniors (other than ladies tee’s) My wife has the same complaint, most courses are much too long for average women golfers. It’s not fun golf to hit driver , 3 wood, wedge into most par 4s, especially into
the wind. Course was a good value , though not as interesting as adjacent Lundin Links (which has gotten too pricey). While not perfect, it’s worth a go if you can get a decent price.
A netted box can never be a Driving range
Calling a netted box a driving range is false.
I booked the course specifically for having a driving range and practicing draws with my long irons.
When pointing it out for the lady in reception I just received: this is Scottland..
A bit awkvard as payment are in advance, and she flatly refused to return money.
Will not return.
Fantastic Course
I played om Jan 3rd 2024. Wasn't expecting much from the course given we have had horrendous weather recently but I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in fantastic condition and the greens were just perfect for playing especially after the rain we've had over the festive period. Credit to the green keepers for the job they've done.
The staff I'm the shop were very friendly and informative about the course layout that really helped us as it was our first time playing the course.
Will definitely be back in the summer and would 100% recommend the course to friends.
I live in Glasgow and I am now considering a Country Membership so I have access to the course 7 days a week.
Not worth £75
Nice enough course, but I don't see where they come up with £75 for a round. Not worth that in my opinion
Nice links course
Interesting links course. Lots of blind shots. Friendly staff and lovely lunch in Member’s clubhouse. If any criticism it would be that the fairways were not in good condition.
Leven Links Course
Very nice course,
Great to play with windy conditions,
Serious challenge with wind in front, nice view on the see and harbor.
Greens could have been faster specially on a day of the Tartan pro Tour is going on.
Difficult but fun
This is a very challenging track, especially in windy conditions. Lovely views along the sea but do not be fooled by the big greens as they are very tricky to read.
Awesome!
A properly challenging links course, in very good condition for the time of year.
Leven
Yeah a very decent set up, enjoyed the course and a pleasure to play on a dry course for the first time in months. Looking forward to returning in the Summer.
