Terrible Greens
Played Labor day the greens had dirt mud not sand on all the greens it was just terrible
Pleasant surprise
Played here on a wet day, had to spend an hour in club house for deluge. Design was really quite good. Greens were average, but fairways had great grass. Location was in the middle of a run down neighborhood, but this was a great municipal course. Staff was very helpful, food was okay. I'd play again.
Stacked Players, Bad Greens, Nice Mix of Holes
The Layout of the course was okay but some of the holes I felt were out right lying about the yardage. Some of the par 3's seem like they are under 100 yards when it stated 135. The greens had dead places in a-lot of them and the fairways were brown but the tee boxes were slightly green. We had to wait at almost every hole for 1-2 tee times ahead of us. It was stacked to closely in my opinion and I would've been very disappointed with paying full price here but luckily caught a hot deal !
Beautiful course!
The course is in great shape. Pace of play was just a little slower than it should have been but that would not stop us from playing there again. We had a great game despite how the staff person acted upon our arrival. We had made our tee time, paid in advance and was there and ready to play prior to that time. But for some reason, he never would tell us what, he decided to move our time up by 20 minutes. When we questioned him he became defensive and short with us. Finally we were allowed to start on time but we felt that he resented it. I won't go so far as to say we would never go there again but we were uncomfortable with the way he acted.
Best Value
For the $$ this was the best course we played. It is a little tight in its layout compared to the more expensive courses. We will definitely be going back when we visit NC again in the Spring.
This course was very nice
Goldsboro Municipal golf course is in great shape. The fairways were green and plush and the greens were in good shape with the exception of one bad spot on, I believe, hole number 5. While there were some in the ground yardage markers there were no post markers. I found the lack of clear markers annoying but not enough to take away from the 5 stars I gave. Pro shop staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this course.
Golfer70
Played blue tees. Has some short and some very long holes. Greens are in good shape. I will be back.
Goldsboro muni
Nice layout
Not crowded- fun holes
Fairways heavily guarded with trees but wide enough to land planes if necessary from nearby SeymorJohnson AFB!
Tested golf skills-not overly long but interesting mix of holes
Will do again in early Fall
Slow play
The course is in incredible shape for being a public city owned course. I play by myself a lot and always run into a couple threesomes or foursomes that will not let me play through. My only other complaint would be that since I'm 64 with no senior tees some holes are quite long playing from the whites. Would be nice if they added senior tees.

Well worth the drive to Goldsboro
Course is well taken care of...It is very forgiving but also has a layout that will get you if you don't keep your mind on your game. Will be back...
Great day with friends!!
I have played this course many times in the past 17
years and have never been disappointed.
The staff is always very friendly and cordial. The greens were very good and the fairways were good.
For the money it is one of the best municipal courses
you will ever play.
.
Excellent value
Great course, staff very helpful and friendly. I purchased a used golf club at the pro shop and plan to upgrade my other clubs there in the near future. They have an awesome selection of good used clubs. Course was good for winter conditions. Will return.
This has come a long way in upkeep...continously improving!
I Highly Recommend GMGC!!!
Great Staff and crewmembers...grounds keepers are on target...keeps me coming back!!!
Keep up the great work!!!
Stop along the way
Easy access off I-795 / US 117. Somewhat challenging course with hazards to carry and /or avoid. Course was in good condition...fast and difficult greens with challenging pin positions. Great value.
