Well, the greens were pretty good, quick and slopey. Course was being worked on, more than half of the tee boxes were rough, loved the layout. Traps were pretty good, fairways were a mixed bag.
Coarse needs a lot repairs and up keep, place still under repairs
Get what you pay for
First hole tee is nothing but Sand, leaves a terrible impression. The course improved slightly as I moved through the rest of the course.
Poor course conditions
Holes that have been altered to accommodate new construction are poorly designed. Teeboxes are atrocious. Fairway and greens are average at best.
Bad timing.
Course layout wasn’t bad, but the clubhouse is being renovated, staff and signage were lacking. Took a bit to find the first tee. Tee boxes and greens were in poor condition. Might be a better option at a different time of year.
Nice layout
Course is in good shape. Greens can be challenging. Back nine is especially nice with open fairways, elevation changes, and well-placed bunkers. New clubhouse should be open in February.
Needs work
Could not tell fairways to rough. Weeds all over the fairways as well as greens. This course needs serious overhauling of entire course. You can see more ground than grass all over the fairways. Balls land on fairways but most of times i was hitting from the dirt in between the grass.
Great Day of Golf
Had a wonderful time at Sweetwater. They a have a new clubhouse which includes a restaurant. Staff is fantastic. They are making lots of course improvements including irrigation. Greens were in good shape. Overall, course conditions are improving.
Needs a lot of work
They say there's work coming, but the current condition of the greens and most of the tee boxes is pretty bad. Several tee boxes are completely sand. There are some confusing holes with greens being moved and poor signage.
Good course could be great
Just two points from our first time playing - a few greens need some love. When putting on green and it jumps from sand patches or weeds…
Second and more important is pace of play / golf etiquette. I know foursomes can be slower than a two some or single player. But when the group in front is taking 24 minutes a hole (yes we timed them) it can derail your game - hello 3 triple bogeys.
If this is a recurring complaint, a ranger could fix it. I’m not a fan of rangers but I’d rather be told to speed up my 15 minute hole then taking over 3 hours for the back nine behind a slow/inconsiderate group.
