Golf
Had a good day at the course ! It’s was in good shape only thing was as I found playing for the first time some tee box’s was hard to find I had to ask other golfers were they were so some better siqns would be good
Disappointing
Too many fairways are essentially the same. Not enough variety to make playing 18 interesting and challenging.
Also some fairways were much wetter underfoot than expected for this time of the year. We were told it was preferred lies off the fairway: the first time we have been told this this year and we have played six courses in Ards and Down area over past three weeks
Big improvements at Bangor
New drainage dug out has made a massive difference. This course used to be only playable 6 months a year with the other 6 being like a bog but they fitted all new large drains and made lots of improvements throughout. Great to see as this is a lovely course in the heart of Bangor.
Golf Now golf Day
Definitely recommend this course. Excellent condition and great scenery.
Good course
Beautiful weather made for an enjoyable round of golf
Crap state
The course is a building site so play some where else. Usually the course is in good form but not at the moment.
Well worth it.
Course was in fantastic condition considering our recent bad weather. Played at 4.15pm so it wasn't very busy which was good. The pro shop was closed but cards were available outside of the shop. Will definitely be back.
August 2024. Course if great shape
Typical 100 year old parkland course ( like Shandon, Masserene, Knock etc).
Course was in great condition after a wet summer... I've posted other courses this week and Bangor was definitely in better shaper.
Course is a decent challenge, tight enough but not too bad. Need to drive it half decent. If you're offline though you generally shouldn't lose a ball.
Worth a game here, decent value.
Bangor GC
Nice parkland course, which is well maintained and offers a reasonable challenge. Greens were in good condition and running reasonably fast. Enjoyable round, will be back.
Sunday 30/6/24
New drainage system being installed. If I hadn't played before I wouldn't off been able to navigate around the course difficult to know which hole and direction to go after each green
Enjoyable and good condition
Very nice parkland course with some nice holes.
Will definitely play again
Excellent course
I used to be a member here, over a decade ago. The course remains as good as it always was in the summer months.
It's a must visit for anyone who had not played it. It is in fantastic condition - real credit to the green keepers. Greens deserve a special mention. They are very slick and if you struggle with fast greens you may not be a fan. I found them fair. They still hold well struck shots. Balls were spinning back when hit well.
We finished in the dark unfortunately as stuck behind a slow 4 ball all the way round, as where a few other groups behind us.
Course in great condition
Couldn’t fault anything, from the welcome in the pro shop, the great condition of the course, fairways and greens, to the welcome in the clubhouse. Thanks.
Bangor in the sun !!
Great course, in great shape with fast greens , nothing negative to report, enjoy!!!
Superb
Fantastic cut fairways, greens were very firm and hard to stay on them, beautiful putting condition though, wee professional was an absolute gentleman, totally recommend this gem of a course.
Pace of play
Pace of play was horrendous, 26 minutes spent on one hole alone. This needs stamped out.
Folks on the course were quite rude and walked onto the 10th tee when I was putting on 9.
They didn't ask could they walk on just teed it up and walked on.
