Great course
Best course to play in Northern ireland during the winter months - got a hole in one on the 14th to!
A gem of a course
Having booked on GolfPass and got a green fee for £25, it was always going to be a good deal. However, the deal got better the more holes we played. Having never played this course before, it was a gem to behold. The course was in amazing condition, and we were welcomed by name (however the Pro Shop guessed it) as we walked through the door. Each hole was a serious challenge, with a strong wind and natural links grass. It a course you really have to plan your way around and the big stick is often best left in the bag. Can't wait to get our and play it again. Well done to all involved in the club.
First time playing here
Course was in excellent condition considering the weather lately
Really well laid out course
Challenging course from white tees
Greens excellent
Great views from almost all holes
Busy course on a Sunday as expected but pace of play was good
Only thing we struggled with was understanding holes 1 and 18 using same fairway, sounds strange but it works, first time here was tough to not laugh at confusion but explained to us very well by pro shop worker.
Course for all year
Conditions of this course was unbelievable, such a great day and the first 18 of 2024!
Nice course, slow pace
Got a good deal at £25 but arrived to discover only playing 15 holes due to some drainage issues. Understandable given the recent weather but really should have been made clear when booking! Holes that were open in great condition and greens exceptional, really nice course. Great views on the elevated tee boxes. Pace of play was horrendous. As a two ball it took 4.5 hours to play the 15 holes and it was stop/start the whole way around, course was rammed with golfers and can’t help but think they let too many on. Over all would still give it another run in the spring.
Excellent value links golf
Brilliant course with some great views. Will definitely be returning for a round soon.
One of the best value rounds of golf in n.Ireland
Everyone should play at least one round here- excellent condition considering April golf and the wet weather they have had.
Probably one of if not the best value round to golf
I’ve had here- for the money it’s a cracking course greens we’re excellent and course drains very well. Good pace of play and generally v friendly people around the club.
Get yourself down you won’t be disappointed
Fabulous course
Had a great afternoon down at Kirkistown Castle, course is very well looked after, greens quickish and run true. Fairways lovely and dim for time of year, actually got some run! Friendly staff, all in all a great experience.
Jack frost nipping at your toes.
Booked for 8.40am, got a text while driving to the course from Nial at the club to say there will be a delay because of frost. When got there Nial explained the situation. The 2 of us got on the course at 9.50am first as we were booked first so Nial done a great job arranging the times in order.
What can I say about the course apart from absolutely fantastic for the time of year and without mats as well, Credit to the grounds keeper. We will definitely be back here without a dought. Credit to Nial and the club. Happy New Year Kirkistown castle golf club.
Cracking day out at Kirkistown.
Firstly, the lady in the car park heard me and my brother were teeing off after her three ball and said we could go before them. Secondly, the guy from the pro shop brought our buggy to the first tee box. Thank you. Thirdly, the members were very friendly and let us through, twice. The course was in lovely condition, especially the greens. Had an absolutely brilliant day and would highly recommend it.
Poor condition considering the time of year
The course looked and felt tired, fairways were full of weeds and appeared not to have been cut for quite a few days. The bunkers had weeds and clumps of grass growing in the sand in places. I played behind two woman who refused to let me through despite scurrying along to try and keep ahead.. They should advise their members what golfing etiquette means. The course ahead of them was empty. At least the weather was fine and the greens were good.
