I wasn’t allowed to play the picturesque back 9
I booked 5 days in advance for the Friday morning. When I turned up they told me I should never have been able to book because the seniors play the back 9 on Friday mornings. Had to play the front 9 twice and miss out on the back 9 with all the views. I was very annoyed.
Fair and friendly
A lovely last minute afternoon round with Pat Lisa and Bryan. I’d waited a while to get the chance to play Bray but it was worth the wait. Matched up with 3 others, I was glad of the course knowledge and tips of where to land it, all provided over a smatttering of friendly banter. Bray it must be said is a fair challenge with generous landing areas (once you know where) and beautifully manicured greens, though with many subtle borrows to be wary of. A fine finishing par 5 through an avenue of trees sets up a very satisfying conclusion.
Excellent Course
Course was in excellent condition and holes are very varied. Would recommend. About 4/5 holes are steep but overall a great track. Clubhouse and facilities are very good and the scenery is top notch.
Excellent layout and variety
The course is in excellent condition, greens superb, variety of shot making and distances adds to the challenge, all in all a great test of golf. Shout out to Darragh and the lads in the Pro shop who are always helpful and understanding to your needs on your golf day, they are a credit to Bray Golf Club.
A gem in the garden of Ireland.
The course has a great variety of holes, long and short, keeping you thinking all the time and using all clubs in the bag. Greens are excellent.
