13 Holes Only………???

Only 13 holes open for play, 12 temporary tee boxes( some 100 yards in front of normal tees, 1 temporary green, 0 bunkers in play, practice green closed, …… no disclaimer when booking on any issue, no remarks, full 18 paid for. Pro shop were completely indifferent to the situation, they informed me quite inhospitable , that they have no responsibility for issue.

Nice day in Athy

Booked on Line, bit disappointed that ONLY 13 HOLES were in play although paid full price for 18 holes
Course in good condition for winter play, no temporary green all full greens.
Weather was great, sun shine all day
Recommend playing again full 18 holes for same price

Big Disappointment.

We didn’t end up playing. I booked. 7:56 pm tee-time, but their clubhouse closes at 7:00. They didn’t have rentals for us, so we didn’t play.

It was too late to ask for a refund on our foursome.

Nice course ruined by beer drinking idiots

Was going fine and the course was in great condition until we got to the par 3 6th. I had seen 4 guys walking down the hill from where you’re supposed to tee off for the 18th when I was on the 5th green.

They proceeded to play the par 3 6th and took about 30 minutes to finish that hole. I skipped to the 11th and so did two lovely members who were behind me.

The four guys were drinking beers and barely hitting it in front of them, urinating in full view of other players.

I rang the clubhouse who said they just run the bar the golf is separate and there’s nothing they can do.

As I was coming back to the 18th tee the same 4 guys who clearly weren’t golfers were on 11. It took them 2 hours to play 4 holes.

I’ve never left a bad review on any place I’ve played but this was some waste. Shame as it’s a nice course but I’ll never play here again.

Walked

Excellent conditions & layout

Have played Athy many times over the years and always enjoy it. Course was in excellent condition and, despite being crowded, play moved along reasonably well. There is also always a pleasant welcome. Highly recommended.
