The truth
Nice course, but the pace of play is poor (overbooked). And lots of areas are pretty dried out/chewed up. It's a little pricey for what you get imo.
Ask questions before you book
We paid $60 for 9 holes for a 3:24pm tee time only to arrive and find out we are playing behind a high school golf team. We waited 10 minutes at each hole. There was no pace of play behind these kids. Coaches should be better monitoring what the players are doing but more so, don’t sell tee times while these kids are playing. They are learning and we get it but, we don’t want to pay good more to sit and wait behind them.
Nice course
I love the different elevation changes and tough greens
No show
Took my money when I made the reservation but no one showed up to open the course . No phone call or email saying they not opening the course
Need color flags
Course needs indicator for pin position. Also too many pot holes along cart path.
Enjoy the game
Overall good experience. Greens in good shape
Decent layout. Good staff. I play a lot. Mostly private. 12 handicap.
There are many 3-4 foot bowl type holes around the course. Even in fairway. Need to fill and sod.
We just moved the ball. I found my ball in a water hole I the middle of a fairway a couple times.
As a public course it’s better than most
Really enjoyed this course!
I enjoyed the open layout of the greens - rather smooth ride in the cart, nothing too bumpy or rickety
A bit pricey but nice
Nice course, no doubt. Well maintained, unique elevation for the area. Played on the weekend and paid $62. Was it worth it? Not really. No GPS on carts, no cart girl, nobody servicing customers on the turn…Pace of play was o.k., not many employees serving or managing the course that day and found a few groups jumped in front of us making the turn…
I would play there again, but would not spend $62 to do so.
Like the course
My only bad encounter this particular day was the person serving at the bar. We had to get our own bags for the waters we got out of the cooler, and got an attitude when we asked for ice. She told us well you helped yourself to the bags, you should have gotten the ice as well. Which isn’t sanitary. Then we asked for extra ice and she said no. It was a very hot day.
Excellent course at a lower price point
The area use to be a landfill that has since been repurposed. A wonderful job was done, however in places there is still pungent odors and gas leaking from the ground if you look in the puddles. The grounds crew does a wonderful job with the resources they have. The clay soil makes it hard to have perfect grass but they do an impressive job. There are times when prices are far too high for what the course is. When the rates rival those of Shepherds Hollow, anything above 60$ peak summer might not be the best value.
Be cautious of early tee times during the winter months. Occasionally they do not update the website until after your scheduled time if they are closing the course.
