Golf course architect Tracy May designed Valle del Sol Golf Course to play through scenic nature in wonderful weather for 18 holes of championship golf.
Valle del Sol Golf Course plays 7,011 yards and begins on a par-4 365-yarder that doglegs left, requiring accuracy from the tee to avoid the bunker on the right, water on the side and out-of-bounds area 13 yards to the right of the path. The 18th hole, at 643 yards from the champion tee, is the golf course's monster, though you can make it in three shots if you avoid the out-of-bounds zone on the left and drive toward right-center on the fairway, then play left to the green, guarded by a big Higueron tree on the front right; using the mounds' slope, you'll make the multilevel green.

Although Valle del Sol takes Golfnow, it was clear that they prefer full fare guests. We arrived early and although several gaps were apparent in the tee sheet, we were not able to go out early. They referred to us as the 10:30 group. The hot fare of $61 was about $11 less that regular after fees, but did not include the $10 bucket of range balls that comes at full price. It was my birthday which usually is a free green fee at VdS, but we were told it was only as part of a foursome of full pay green fees.
Overall the golf was great but the golf shop and starters don’t care for Golfnow.
Fun course!
It was very hot and the course was a little dry. But that just let my ball roll a little farther!! The staff was great! I was a single and there was an outing in front of me...the starter got me around the outing and I never slowed down. Fun course!
Great Value
Excellent course with great views and wildlife. Hot deal round only $35 including cart. Certainly worth normal price about$60. Florida like course much more playable than Cariari which is also excellent but old design and very challenging.
I played the course on Sat & Sun using Golfnow and paid $46 & $27 for both rounds. I thought Golfnow was just a USA app but while on vacation I was looking for courses and it popped up. I was already planning on playing both days at the $70 regular rate. The course was in private country club condition. The greens were like glass and challenging course and would recommend it if you are in Costa Rica. I actually like the course better than the Marriott Los Suenos course.
Great course with great views
Had an awesome time on this course. Nice greens, wide open fairways. Good combination or short and long holes. Very forgiving and fun course to play. Some greens are very undulating and are tough to putt on if you miss where you wanted to be. Overall very nice place though, can't go wrong here. Probably the best course in the area.
